Headscratchers / Minute to Win It

Go To

  • The Computer Is a Cheating Bastard: The blueprint announcer always seems to give the wrong challenge at the wrong time, as if she knew the contestant's weakness.
  • Deleted Scene: Some of the games never appeared on the show due to the so-called "game wizards" deciding they weren't good enough. One notable game, Pitch Black, never appeared since the game had to be played in the dark. Others include keeping a cup up with a racket, using a blowout to get ping pong balls out of a bowl, and throwing ping-pong balls at party hats. These games mostly do with parties, so they're may have been an episode planned for it but never aired or filmed. Makes you wonder what else Minute to Win It hid from their viewers. When certain photo galleries display odd tendencies. Such as an unseen game, or literally cutting out attempts from the show. The only noticeable difference is the color of the bottles.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: When Kevin Jonas stepped up to play Don't Blow The Joker, he said he saw a girl (Rachel Adams) fail at the challenge and thought he would do better and beat it. He came very close, but in the end he was on par with, guess who? Just about Rachel Adams and ended up failing the challenge. Some Minute to Win It contestants don't seem scared of the challenges, which is weird when there are over 200 of them.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: In Oh Nuts!, after the first bolt is placed, you can't hit the table to re-steady your hand or adjust the first bolt. You can however, adjust the first bolt without hitting the table. Considering how hard the game is itself, it makes no sense that this weird rule would be included.
  • Sudden Soundtrack Stop: The music often cuts to another piece when it is thought that the contestant will win. For higher level games, it is quite unknown whether the contestant will win. So how are the audio managers so good at predicting this when the music is heard live?
  • Unknown Character: The blueprint announcer. It is still unknown whether her voice was computerized or real, because sometimes she may have a lot of personality, but other times she will have almost none such as when reading aloud whether a contestant has failed or passed a level.
  • Life Isn't Fair: When a contestant on the Indian version (Poonam Nandani) played her Level 4 challenge, she did complete the challenge under the American rules, which alloted time if the contestant completes the task but must hold an item for 3 seconds while the clock still has less than that amount. She completed her challenge with around 1.25 seconds left, then held the inverted tray for 3 seconds, only to be considered failed. The reason: Time Ran Out.
