- The first of Godfrey's men is killed via an arrow through the eye, pinning his head to a tree. Why exactly was he killed, and why was the first response of everyone else at the camp to calmly talk to the men who did it without ever mentioning the unprovoked attack?

Balian returns to the village he originally left at the beginning. The same one where he is wanted for the murder of his brother and as an accessory for the murder of his old lord's son.
