- How did the police obtain Miloslavsky's ID?
- It's a little convoluted, but here we go:
- Miloslavsky enters Shpak's apartment wearing the coat with his ID in it. Look at the badges on the jacket when he's in the phone booth.
- Shurik dissolves the wall, and Miloslavsky comes over, carrying one of Shpak's tape recorders and his coat.
- Bunsha questions him, Miloslavsky threatens him, and before Shurik starts the time machine again, Miloslavsky leaves the jacket and tape recorder on Shurik's bed.
- Much, much later in the film, when Zinida comes back and gives Ivan modern, Soviet clothes to wear, he picks up Miloslavsky's coat at some point.
- When Ivan is detained in Shpak's apartment, he's still wearing the jacket, and when the psychiatric ward comes by, they take the jacket off him to put on a straightjacket.
- The police, in Shpak's apartment, look inside the jacket that Ivan was wearing and realize it's Miloslavsky's by the ID card that's always been there.
