• How did the police obtain Miloslavsky's ID?
  • It's a little convoluted, but here we go:
  1. Miloslavsky enters Shpak's apartment wearing the coat with his ID in it. Look at the badges on the jacket when he's in the phone booth.
  2. Shurik dissolves the wall, and Miloslavsky comes over, carrying one of Shpak's tape recorders and his coat.
  3. Bunsha questions him, Miloslavsky threatens him, and before Shurik starts the time machine again, Miloslavsky leaves the jacket and tape recorder on Shurik's bed.
  4. Much, much later in the film, when Zinida comes back and gives Ivan modern, Soviet clothes to wear, he picks up Miloslavsky's coat at some point.
  5. When Ivan is detained in Shpak's apartment, he's still wearing the jacket, and when the psychiatric ward comes by, they take the jacket off him to put on a straightjacket.
  6. The police, in Shpak's apartment, look inside the jacket that Ivan was wearing and realize it's Miloslavsky's by the ID card that's always been there.
