• If The Way of the Flame needs a part of the meteorite to work, how are all the Mongols able to do it? Did they find their own meteorite?
  • Wasn't the point of the meteorite just to reliably create a spark? The ammunition item needed to use the power is called "Incendiary Oil", after all.
• In one of the records, the writer mentions Khotun's forces in the North carrying out secret orders. What is he referring to?
  • It's possible that, depending on when said record is found, this is about the timeframe that Khotun reverse-engineers Jin's wolfsbane poison and is having his men both test the poison out against the villages in the north as well as gather ample supplies of wolfsbane flowers from the area for him to use against the mainland.
• During the second to final chapter of Masako's tale, when Jin asks her to be more social, she remarks "Did you speak with your father's killer?" and mentions that Lord Shimura hunted down Kazumasa's killers. If that's the case, how did Tenzo escape his grasp?
  • He mentions that he and Fune escaped Fort Sakai, but no one else did. He was masked and the only witness was Jin as a boy, who wasn't exactly in a state to rationally identify his father's murderer. It's likely that all the other raiders were executed for the crime and justice was declared served.
• What's with the Mongols using siege weapons to destroy small villages with only like 4 or 5 houses? Wouldn't it be way cheaper and easier to just send a small unit of riders with torches, bombs, and fire arrows?
  • Possibly Rule of Drama. For In-Universe reasons, it's likely a terror tactic.
• Why did Jin go into the battle for Komoda wearing Clan Adachi's armor? Jin is lord of Clan Sakai, but felt unworthy of wearing his father's armor, so okay, fine, he's not in Sakai regalia. However, he is the ward of Lord Shimura, who's house colors are red and white. Why would Jin not wear Shimura colors? I know he was friendly with the Adachi clan, but why would he go into battle dressed in their clan armor?
