- So, why doesn't Ezra use his awesome demon powers to destroy John and the Higube Forces when he was happy to use them against the Septis Forces with almost reckless abandon?
- Possibly because Ezra was confident that with Ethan dead there was no one left in the empire capable of matching wits with him and thus didn't think he needed to use his demon powers. He was ready to use chameleon-metal to make it look like a force field was protecting him because this was clever, but still human. Blasting people apart with thunder bolts shot from his hands and eyes, raising officers from the dead and generally doing outright evil things would besmirch his lord's name and drive officers away the Stormson forces to either join the Higube, or worse the Septis.
- And it's because he did all of the above mentioned evil things that he had very few living officers in the final battle, and most of them were either evil or psychopaths. Both in Salseus Firth's case.
