• During one chapter, Kona's wife tries to conceive a child with him. However she stops when she realizes Kona is mourning for Samu. She then reveals her true nature and professes her love for Kona. And Kona returns her affections.
  • Kona still refers to Lucas as his father-in-law after this incident, though this could have been to fool his other followers.
• Early on, Kona had ordered the death of every member of the Silverhawk family. However, when a mother and her child were supposed to be executed, Kona spared them despite his anger towards their family.
  • The kid grows up and fights alongside Kona.
• Though not particularly Heartwarming, when Mitchu dies and the allied force has entered the Capital, Kirrin informs Marcus that he has to leave. Marcus then CRIES because he lost not one, but TWO great officers when Mitchu died. Marcus then loans Kirrin Three thousand troops to aid him in stabiising Girail.
• Karl Valian, arguably the most badass character in the story, cares about his daughter so much, he refuses to let Lucas use her to lure Kona to the capital, despite wanting her to marry a warrior just like Kona. And Lucas then hires him.
