Headscratchers / Craig of the Creek

Go To

A world as wonderous as the one found in Craig of the Creek is bound to raise a question or two.

  • In "Too Many Treasures" Craig's mother says that she does an exercise with the children at school that have too much clutter. She explains that she asks them whether they want or need each item. With that in mind, Why is Craig so surprised that Helen's Mother is a teacher in "Doorway To Helen"?
    • From the description she gave, it sounded like Nicole is more of a counselor than a teacher. If she was than Craig would have mentioned that they have that in common. Besides, kids rarely think of what their teachers are like outside of the classroom.
    • Also, some of the surprise could have been because Helen's Mother was Helen's teacher.
  • Is all the stuff that happens at the Creek real or just in the kids' heads? The whole setup makes it hard to tell.
    • While there's an occasional touch of Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane (like the incident with the haunted dollhouse), most of it is the creek kids using their imagination. Occasionally they snap out of it or we're shown what's actually going down.
  • Why does everybody act so stupid at certain times in the series. When kids pretend to be handcuffed, NOBODY thinks to take advantage of the fact that they're not ACTUALLY wearing handcuffs, and in the episodes involving cardboard, nobody thinks to just tear or cut through it, and in "Cardboard Identity", they encounter Carter MULTIPLE TIMES, and nobody thinks to just pull him out of the cardboard and interrogate him, and Carter doesn't think to question what Craig and his friends are doing in the cardboard lab, and Carter wasn't even infused with the cardboard, as shown in the previous encounters with him in the lab, nor was the cardboard actually controlling his mind, and "The Ground Is Lava", don't even get me started on "The Ground Is Lava".
    • The phenomenon is called "kids playing pretend."
    • Also, comedy.
  • Craig had asked Omar to join his crew. So then, why didn't Omar show up in all of the episodes of Season 4, besides Beyond the Overpass and Chef's Challenge?
    • Perhaps it's either trying to find his best friend, Maya, to make amends with her, or just hanging out at home while waiting for another puzzle cube quest.
    • He did lose two summers' worth of free time, after all.
  • So if Handlebarb is leader of the 10-Speeds, why is Cannonball the one on the Creek Council?
    • Could be she can't go or isn't interested so she sent Cannonball as her representative for the group.
  • In "The End Was Here", Craig was prepared to pretend he and his friends lost a ball over the fence so they could get to the backyard and dig up the Game Master's chest, but when he found out Jason lived there, he told them the REAL reason they wanted back there. Why discard the lie just because it was Jason who lived there? Even if it wasn't Jason who lived there, why would he care one way or another why Craig and crew really wanted in the backyard?
  • Shouldn't Craig have known about Xavier's Slide the Ferret memorabilia BEFORE "The Team Up"? I mean, he visited Xavier's house in part 4 of the "Capture The Flag" special, so he should've seen it in that episode, and not only that, but in part 2, the Ninja Kids told Craig that Xavier gave tem Chaos Ball Squishers to leave the waterfall.
  • During the Capture the Flag game, while Kelsey is desperately trying to hold Maya off, Omar shows up. His excuse? A ride from the former Green Poncho. How would a high schooler have a car that can travel through a forest? Even if it's a normal car that got really scratched up, how was the former Green Poncho able to drive through a forest and rough terrain with that sort of accuracy?
    • They didn't. They stopped outside Interstate 295.
