Tear Jerker / Craig of the Creek

• "The Sunflower" is about a girl whose beloved pet hamster dies and struggles to deal with it.
• "ScoutGuest", particularly the scene where Jason tells Craig about his neglectful family. His dad never praises him except when bragging to other adults, and his stepmom cares more about chihuahuas than him. The whole reason he stayed the night is because his parents weren't around to let him into the house, and it's implied it's happened more than once. Poor kid.
• Wildernessa seeing that Cheesesticks seemingly left her for Brigid in "Puppy Love", especially when she tells Craig how she viewed Cheesesticks more as a friend than a pet, and how she wanted to respect any decisions he made.
• Sparkle Cadet finally remembering the face of her old friend during the climax of the song in "Galactic Goodbyes".
• “Craig of the Campus” has both of the brothers experience quite a rough day after Bernard drags Craig to his college.
  • Despite being promised ice cream later on, Craig is still upset about being at the campus so Bernard tries to make Craig behave by bringing up his future plans and how life isn’t all “hot fudge and sprinkles” while also bringing the possibility of how he and his friends might drift apart. A harsh but real possibility.
  • Craig manages to get to Kenneth and opens up about how he’s fearful of the future. Kenneth does reassure Craig about the Heart of the Forest’s existence and about his friendships… before Kenneth also tells Craig that he had to give up something that meant a lot to him so he could become king. It’s the first time we see Kennith express any other emotion than joy and it’s sobering.
  • Bernard meanwhile has a utterly awful time taking his exam as he’s stressed out to the point where he’s imaging Professor Knight as a tiger. Not helping is that Knight does not care in the slightest about Bernard’s stress. What makes this worse is that this is all too real and makes it even easier to sympathize with Bernard. Oh and after Craig gives Bernard his ice cream, it falls into his pants cause course why not?
