• How the hell don't all these people realize that he's joking? I mean seriously, he isn't exactly being what one would call subtle. I don't see how any intelligent person couldn't tell how everything he did was an act within seconds...
  • Then again, the people shown there were either nuts or really stupid in their own ways. The gay converter and the Westboro Baptist Church need not be mentioned, but this troper was shocked by the mother ''who would allow her infant child to undergo a liposuction to lose weight''. If you are willing to say that, there is officially no hope for your intellect.
  • The production of this movie is part of Cohen's business, and to quote H.L. Mencken "No one in this world, so far as I know—and I have searched the record for years, and employed agents to help me—has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people."
  • The magic of editing. A ton of people in filming could have seen through it but that would have been taken out of the final cut of the movie.
    • To Ironic Echo the op, how the hell don't all these people realize that agenda-driven movies do this? They have a narrative they want to push and things that don't fit the narrative get cut out or reedited to fit.
