Different detective divisions
- The LAPD clearly has different bureaus and divisions, and each division has its own detectives. So what’s the difference between division detectives like Bosch and his colleagues, and the ones in RHD?
- RHD deals with high profile cases which occur anywhere in the city. It’s considered an elite group of detectives. Homicide detectives in a division are on a rotation and catch cases that occur in their geographical area. This is why the Koreatown Killer is in RHD jurisdiction, as was the Stacey Kincaid case.
Hollywood Station captain
- So in season 3, the Hollywood Station's captain is Ellen Lewis. Grace has conflict with Lewis, who is married to her ex. But by season 4, set three months after season 3 ends, Lewis is out and Dennis Cooper is in (though on staycation). Do we learn why Lewis gets transferred out and why? I know Lewis kind of ran down Billets to Irving, but he seemed unimpressed by that move and noted the personal relationship.
- Lewis' departure is never explained. But it's not hard to read between the lines. Billets has always been one of Irving's allies in Hollywood Division, and he would work to protect her.
