Serena and the agents’ alliance
- Towards the climax, there’s the moment where it’s revealed that off-camera, Serena and the government agents realized they were on the same side, and that their new, shared objective was to kill Beavis and Butt-Head and then dissect them, accomplishing both of their goals.
My question is how did they become allies if Serena knows they’re humans (well, as human as Beavis and Butt-Head can be) and the government dudes believe they’re aliens? More importantly, how did they become allies without it being clear that Serena wants to kill them for personal reasons, but nobody asked why she wants to kill them (because that leads back to Serena losing her patience with the boys and trying to kill them during the space mission back in ‘98)? Besides, this series as a whole isn’t a situation like South Park, where all the adults are as stupid as Beavis and Butt-Head and the kids are mature, hyper-intelligent baby geniuses; most of the adult characters are decently intelligent (even if they’ve got their issues). You’d think a question like “Ma’am, exactly why do you want to kill them?” would’ve come up.
Also, I’m sure an answer like “Serena lied and said they’re aliens” might come up, but the issue with that is that the boys served with Serena on the space mission (which was disastrous, and an incident like that would have a lot of documentation and records, surely), and Hartson was on that mission (and obviously wasn’t fond of Serena, so why he didn’t betray her by setting the record straight is another mystery).
