- Was the Shadow of the Orb created by red flesh growing on the vitae flows? The Shadow doesn't appear until the sabotage, and the Shadow spreads a substance similar to the red flesh when it manifests in the first game.
- Word of God in the developer stream said that the artificially-induced red flesh is not the Shadow, despite being the same substance. According to Kita's memory cylinders, they had accidentally summoned the Shadow during an earlier experiment, and then figured out through study how to make the Orb do that on its own, using "a formula which is in sympathy with the pulse of the orb".
- Why can Tasi read the text of the blue tablets? Was it a side-effect of transforming into a Harvester? Did the inhabitants of the Other World put universal translators into the tablets just for the kick of it?
- According to Word of God, it's the latter, the blue tablets detect the language understood by the person holding them.
