• Several years of the series take place well after the passage of California’s Wedsworth-Townsend act which creates paramedic programs in the state. So why is it that every time Pete and Jim call an ambulance, all we see are ambulance attendants who pack the patient and leave? Where are the L.A. paramedics?
  • It was presumably still in the early years of the program, and it would basically be too novel (and experimental) to mix in with the police action on-screen. (If you remember from early Emergency! episodes, you had more than a few members of the general public bewildered and skeptical of non-doctors providing medical intervention.) Plus, while there might have been plenty of old-school ambulances floating around for filming, there wouldn't be as many Fire/EMS squad trucks floating around for use.
