Game Breaker / Princess Connect! Re:Dive

Go To

As with any Gacha games, Princess Connect! Re:Dive have characters that utterly break the game in their own ways be it Damage, Utility, or a combination of both.

     Princess Gala/Pri Fes Characters
Characters that can only be drawn from Princess Gala gacha banners are all extremely powerful:
  • Christina's first skill boosts her attack and TP gain rate and her second skill debuffs defense. With her exclusive equipment, her first skill also gives a TP boost and boosts critical damage. This all plays into her Union Burst, Numbers Avalon, an attack that always hits, always crits, and makes Christina invincible for a short period, allowing her to shred single bosses to pieces.
  • Neneka has two attack skills. The first one hits multiple enemies and stuns, while the second hits a single enemy and debuffs defense. However, her true power lies in her Union Burst, which creates a buff field that gives TP regeneration and a magic attack buff of whoever stands inside it, but also creates a copy of herself, doubling her attack power. This makes her a valuable member in magic parties for everything that she brings.
  • Muimi is a Mechanically Unusual Fighter. She starts out with a Herd-Hitting Attack that has stun and knockback, and a defense debuff that hits multiple targets. However, when she uses her Union Burst, instead of emptying the TP gauge, it changes her weapon into her Infinity +1 Sword until the TP gauge drains out, changing her skills into two very powerful attacks, skyrocketing her damage.
  • Princess Form Pecorine is a rare example of a Tank that can DPS. Her skills, a physical attack buff and a Herd-Hitting Attack, and her Union Burst are more powerful the more HP she has. If her HP is below half though, her skills give her a damage barrier and a heal respectively, and her Union Burst gives an automatic revive.
  • Princess Kokkoro stands out as one of the best characters in the game due to how much she provides and then some. Her Union Burst, Aurora Sanctuary, is an extremely large field that reduces enemy Physical and Magic Defense while also boosting allies' Physical and Magic Crit damage on top of Health and TP Regeneration. Her second skill Boosts Both Physical and Magic damage and regenerates TP allowing both herself and her team to fire off their Union Bursts consecutive times. Even her first skill, which heals all of your team, is extremely useful for sustaining your team outside of her UB. It's no joke that she gets compared to Merlin with how much she improves your team just by being on it.
  • Ameth did not disappoint when she was finally made playable. Her skills are basically a combination of what ever you want with especially good support. Her first skill is a target heal on the ally with the least amount of HP and gives them a damage cut in both Physical and Magic Damage. Her second skill is a party wide TP charge with the added boost in both Physical and Magic Attack Boost. Finally her Union Burst boosts the party's Magic and Physical Defense on top of giving them HP regeneration AND a universal Barrier that ties nicely to her second skill. New players have been advised to go for her in the new player special Prifes banner since she basically trivializes ALL of the content in the game.
     Non-Pri Fes characters
  • Karyl (New Year) deserves a special mention despite not being a Prifes unit. She is infamous for her ability to infinitely buff her own damage each time she Union Bursts, given the proper support. Her damage scaled to such ridiculous levels that the devs ended up needing to introduce a new damage limit mechanic to Clan Battles to simply limit her damage output. Even then, she is still the go-to attacker for many bosses.
  • Yukari is considered to be the best of all lower rarity characters. Her kit is one of the best in the game, offering Healing, TP battery, and a shield that blocks Magic Damage. This makes her a valuable member of any team she's in. Ascending her to higher stars and getting her Unique Equipment is also easy since her shards are bought at the dungeon shop so you can consistently farm for it.
  • Saren (Summer) is considered to be one of the best units in the game due to her insane damage supporting capabilities. Both her skills and Union Burst focus on buffing physical, magic, crit rate, and attack speed, with her first skill also offering a large amount of TP recovery. This makes her a versatile support that can fit into any team as well as take on any type of challenge from normal/story quests to Clan Battles.
  • Yuni (School Festival) establishes herself as one of the premier supports in the game. Her Union Burst, The Joint Illusion of Truth and Existence, is boosts both Magic and Physical Attack of allies and places a Learning Time buff to herself, in which all of her buffs becomes more potent. Her first skill, Magical Mechanics Analysis Exercise, debuffs both Magic and Physical Defense of the enemy which is further enhanced by Learning Time and adds a Critical Damage Taken debuff on her enemies. Her second skill, Metaphysical Extension Theory, buffs the party TP Gain Rate, Action Speed, and gives a TP battery if the Yuni is in her Learning Time. Lastly, she has a special skill, A Section on Contraindication, that buffs both Magic and Physical attacks. This version of Yuni is also unique in that she doesn't attack and just cycles through her skills, keeping the buffs duration indefinite.
  • Nozomi (Liberator) is what you get when you take the Physical side of Summer Saren's support skills and dial it up a notch. Her first skill Growth Elation increases the Physical Attack, Critical chance, and Critical Damage of all characters that deals Physical Damage. Her second skill Yell for the Future boosts the Physical Attack of all allies and recover their TP and if the skill is used the first time, the TP recover is increased and lowers the physical defense of all enemies. Finally, her Union Burst Hope on Stage deals a decent amount of damage to the enemy on top of boosting the party's Physical Damage and shredding their Physical defense. Nozomi (Liberator) practically became a staple in multiple teams that use Physical Damage in all types of content.
     6 Star characters
The introduction of 6 star ascension managed to breathe life into some characters and then some:
  • Djeeta was already a decent unit in the game but 6 Star Djeeta is an overkill. Her kit is focused on spamming her Union Burst as much as possible with both her skills recovering TP. Her Union Burst is a massive Single Target nuke on an enemy AND boosts her own attack my a staggering amount. And if that wasn't enough, Djeeta can also boost her allie's TP, allowing them to fire off their Union Burst in quick succession.
  • Maho went from serviceable to outright one of the best with her 6 star Upgrade. Her upgraded Union Burst increases the Magic Attack Boost and Defense Boost while also adding TP Regenerate to it making her perfect for spamming Union Bursts. She's been a must have in Magic teams due to her ability to facilitate Union Burst looping and buffing magic. And that's not to getting to the fact that Maho is extremely easy to obtain, due in part to the fact that her shards are in the Dungeon Coin Shop, making it easy to unlock and upgrade her without spending spending a single jewel!
  • 6 Star Kokkoro (Summer) is practically a must when you're running a Physical Team. Her first skill lowers the enemy's defense which becomes greater with her Unique Equipment while her second skill is a boost to all allies' Physical Attack. What completely breaks her, however, is her Union Burst. It boosts all allies' Physical Attack, Crit Damage, AND TP Gain rate by a large amount with a side of Defense down for good measure. It's also a massive heal to a character with the lowest health along with a moderate heal towards everyone else.
  • Despite starting out as one of the worst units in the game, Akino ends up as one of the strongest 6 star in the game. Her upgraded first skill, Haughty Hack+, is a Counter-Attack that boosts her attack and TP gain rate. Her second skill, Rejunvenating Jewels, is a field that heals any allies with in the circle. The cream of the crop, however, is her Union Burst Noble Prominence. It's a massive single target damage to an enemy that not only massively boosts her attack, it also gives her an omni absorb shield, and deploys a field that continously damages enemies ensuring that nothing survives her onslaught. All these working in tandem makes a nigh-unkillable monster that's capable of soloing majority of the content in the game. In fact, most endgame players have her in the Quest Support so that newer players can breeze to the early game and even up to the endgame.
  • Tomo ends up being one of the most powerful units in the game when she received her 6 star upgrade. Her skill set is designed to both be able to take on multiple enemies and single target. Her upgraded first skill, Mikuma Style Sword Technique: Gale+, when it hits multiple enemies while her second skill, Mikuma Style Sword Technique: Reversal Swallow grants her a TP recover on top of damaging the enemy. The part cements her power is her upgraded Union Burst, Mikuma Secret Sword Technique: Reppu Shinko, it's a massive physical damage to two enemies in the frontline. What makes it so powerful is that it takes the large Physical and Action Speed boosts that Tomo got in her regular form and gives it to all allies around her. While the field is limited, majority of the best physical attackers (Djeeta, 6 star Rei, Muimi, Christina) are all within her range making them stronger as well!
