Behind-the-scenes photo of Jenna Coleman with a Terrifying Pet Store Rat; in the show, this rat is one of several unexpected birthday party crashers that Victoria panics upon seeing.
  • Lehzen has all of the beeswax candles replaced with tallow candles. Hilarity ensues when the tallow candles melt, dripping all over the guests at the coronation ball.
  • Victoria's over-the-top reaction to a rat crashing her birthday party.
  • Victoria jumping up and down 10 times after sex, as a method of contraception.
  • Chef Francatelli's response to Victoria's Morning Sickness? "Chocolate is the remedy of every ailment known to woman."
  • Prince Albert and Sir Robert Peel enthusiastically geeking out over a steam train.
  • Francatelli's replacement at the beginning of season 2 is hillariously incompetent.
  • A stowaway manages to break into Buckingham Palace and mooch off the food supplies for almost all of the episode. At the end he's finally discovered and chased, which the Duchess of Buccleugh witnesses. And when she asks what this "guttersnipe" is doing, he only complements her on her dress.
  • Albert and Ernest are in Germany to attend their father's funeral, when Ernest takes Albert out drinking. By the end of the night, Albert is absolutely plastered with too much absinthe.
  • The Duchess of Buccleugh constantly complaining while she's in France. At one point she loudly argues with a waiter who can't speak English, because she just wants a piece of toast.
  • Albert, Ernest, and the other boys leaving a formal lunch party to go skinny-dipping. And then, while they're all bathing naked in a pond, Victoria walks in on them.
  • While Queen Victoria is in Scotland, she sits and listens to a Scottish poet reciting long verse, and seems almost bored. Cut to the servants (and Drummond and Lord Alfred) having a wild party in the woods.
  • When Victoria and Albert, having gotten lost the previous night, are sleeping anonymously at a farmer's house, the Atholl highlanders find them the next morning. Victoria's response is to ask to sleep in some more.
  • Victoria has her kids perform a play for the now-deposed King Louis Phillipe when she takes him in. Bertie flubs his line, then storms off. Vicky quickly picks up Bertie's lines and starts Acting for Two.
  • Vicky and Bertie are watching Victoria give birth to their younger sibling, and Bertie starts worrying about his mother dying giving birth, especially since it means he'll become King.
  • Prince Bertie's reason for not wanting to be King? "Britain has Queens."
  • Mr. Penge banging on a comically small drum during Bertie and Vicky's mock battle, with clear exasperation on his face.
  • While Victoria, Albert, and company are visiting Lord Palmerston's estate in Ireland, most of the people are cheering at seeing their queen, which Palmerston takes the credit for. And when one angry heckler shouts insults at the Queen?
Lord Palmerston: Clearly one I missed.
  • When Lord Palmerston calls out the Duke of Monmouth for his misogyny:
Lady Emma Portman: Duke, you are ungallant.
Duke of Monmouth: That don't make me wrong.
Lord Palmerston: No, it makes you a boor.
Duke of Monmouth: O-R-E or O-O-R?
Lord Palmerston: Both. Either. O-A-R, perhaps.
  • Lord Palmerston's Deadpan Snarker description of the source that Albert cites in his accusations:
Magee is no one's gamekeeper, sir. He is a poacher. And as a magistrate, I send him to prison on a regular basis. I rather like the fellow, but, um, he does like mischief.
