• One of the series' best-remembered moments is Megatron's moment of clarity in issue #10; nearly as good is Optimus Prime's deadpan response:
  Megatron: Why? That's what they all asked me. Why him... why Starscream? Why, of all Decepticons, did I decide to revitalize the one whose record of deceit and betrayal is legend? Because I'm an idiot, that's why!
  Optimus Prime: While I am tempted to record that last statement for posterity....
• Starscream is such a Card-Carrying Villain, he ends up having a panic attack when he learns the influence of the Matrix of Leadership is causing him to start acting nicely.
  "What's happening to me, Prime? Help me! I don't want to be good!"
  "All my innate survival instincts seem to have been buried under an insane urge to save lives! What's happening to me?"
