- Xiao Tan attempts to get ready. She runs into trouble with the toothbrush — which had to be made specially for her because they didn't exist in ancient China — then freaks out when Jing Xin touches her chest while putting her clothes on, then tries to do her hair and make-up herself. She ends up with messy hair and make-up.
- Xiao Tan calls the Qu household a "poor, ripped-up place" and says Madam Da has "a pre-menopausal disease".
- While waiting for Lian Cheng, Xiao Tan sets up a bucket of water to fall on his head. He spots the tripwire and somersaults over it — twice! — while Xiao Tan forgets it's there and gets drenched.
- Xiao Tan sings a Justin Bieber song. In ancient China.
- Jing Xin translates Xiao Tan's letter and runs into trouble with her use of modern slang. Highlights include Jing Xin's belief that "tomboy" means "married to a man named Tom", "single dog" means Xiao Tan raised a legless dog, and "oppa" is a kind of dessert with very, very long legs.
- Xiao Tan refuses to let go of Lian Cheng when he falls off a cliff... because she wants him to divorce her but she doesn't want to be a widow.
