Funny / Straight Outta Compton

• The sheer surrealness of the scene where the gangbanger gets on the bus and telling everyone that they better "gangbang those books." Ice Cube remarks in the next scene about how absurd it is to be told to stay in school from a gang member waving a gun around.
• Eazy-E's first time rapping "Boyz-N-The-Hood", where he sounds off key the first couple times while Cube and Yella laugh at him.
  • And these little gems;
  Ice Cube: Write the songs Cube, Shut the fuck up Cube.
  Eazy-E: [rapping] Dre, y'know this shit won't never work!
• "Eric...you're kinda being a ho right now."
• "Bye, Felicia." The entire scene leading up to it is pretty much dark humor based, which makes it all the funnier.
• The entire scene where the band listens to "No Vaseline" is hilarious. Besides the girls and random friends who were with them (who are laughing their asses off), Yella finds it Actually Pretty Funny while Jerry has a full-on Villainous Breakdown. The rest of the band mostly just shrug it off, but it visibly gets to them as they listen to, which makes the contrast all the funnier when Heller goes berserk and everyone else reacts in a relatively relaxed manner. DJ Yella actually admits that's pretty much how they took it in Real Life in an interview, since to them there was no question that Cube had them beat.
  DJ Yella: That shit's kinda funny.
  MC Ren: The motherfucker got us. Yo, what we 'bout to do?
  Jerry: The first thing we're gonna do, we're gonna sue the ignorant fuck, that's what we're gonna do. Defamation of character liable- I don't really care, the anti-semitic piece of fuckin' shit! Who the fuck does he think he is?! Un-FUCKIN'-believable! THAT kind of fuckin' bullshit, Jew-bashing bullshit?! You know what- I'm gonna call my friends at the JDL! They'll handle him, we'll see how much he likes that!
  Eazy E: Jerry, you gotta relax, aight? Niggas don't even know what "anti-semitic" means anyway, it's just a fuckin' battle rap!
  Jerry: Come on, Eric, We gotta get organized! We gotta fight this kinda ignorant fuckin' bullshit! You know what, I always knew that he was a hateful human being. This is just ignorant shit! He calls it political? This is ignorant shit! I always knew it! The whole world is gonna know, I'm gonna make sure of that, okay?! I don't understand why the fuck you're not more angry about this! Did you hear what he said?!
  Eazy E: I heard what he said!
  Jerry: DID YOU HEAR WHAT HE SAID?!
  Eazy E: I heard what he said!
  Jerry: About you?! About me?! Come on!
  Eazy E: You got your way of dealing with it, I got mine! We could just go in the studio and end his whole career!
  DJ Yella: I dunno about all that...
• Jerry mouthing along backstage when the gang sings "Fuck Tha Police" in Detroit.
  • Also, when Cube leads the crowd and tells them all to collectively flip the bird, the concert's security detail joins in. Jerry looks both worried and tempted to join in.
• Jerry repeating himself word for word twice when Eazy-E confronted about him ripping off the band.
• Ice Cube criticizes a reporter who's intentionally trying to paint him as a radical advocating for violence, which culminates in this gem.
  Ice Cube: But I get it. That's your job, the bigger the story the bigger the check in your field of work. It's not your fault, I shouldn't blame you. *Holds his hand out* What's your name, man?
  Reporter: *leans in to shake Cube's hand.* Brian.
  Ice Cube: *Pulls his hand back and casually gets up to walk away* Eat a dick, Brian, get the fuck out my house. Y'all done here.
  • Also, when Cube pulls his hand away, he simultaneously flips off the reporter.
• It's a heartbreaking scene, but Eazy's first response to being told he tested positive for HIV is: "But I ain't no faggot!"
