  • Lily Tomlin/James Taylor:
    • In a parody of the Ford-Carter debates (with Dan Akyroyd playing Jimmy Carter) where Gerald Ford (Chevy Chase) would get confused and think he was playing on the Name That Tune game show.
Ford (after an honestly confusing question involving the federal budget): It was my understanding that there would be no math.
    • Tomlin visits the cast of "The Land of Gorch," which Breaks the Fourth Wall for its final appearance. When Tomlin asks them if they plan on appearing on The Muppet Show, they say they can't because it's a family program.
  • Eric Idle/Joe Cocker & Stuff:
    • John Belushi-as-Cocker "duets" with the real Cocker on "Feelin' Alright".
    • The Running Gag of Idle trying to play "Here Comes the Sun" in his Monty Python's Flying Circus "Gumby" voice, but the cast stops him every time.
  • Karen Black/John Prine: Mr. Bill. Just everything with Mr. Bill.
  • Paul Simon & George Harrison: Simon opened the show by performing "Still Crazy After All These Years" in a turkey costume, but stopped mid-song and left the stage because it was too silly. As he walks backstage, the camera catches Lorne Michaels talking to musical guest George Harrison, explaining that the money was for all 4 of the Beatles, and that he wouldn't be able to cash in alone.
  • Candace Bergen/Frank Zappa with Don Pardo as "The Slime:" The "Consumer Probe" sketch, with Candace Bergan interviewing Mainway Toys CEO Irvin Mainway (Aykroyd) about his companies questionable toys, including Bag-O-Glass.
  • Ralph Nader/George Benson: The first Coneheads sketch.
  • Fran Tarkenton/Leo Sayer & Donny Harper: "Weekend Update" opens with Jane Curtin reading a letter from a female viewer who complains that Curtin doesn't have the sex appeal of her predecessor, Chevy Chase. Curtin replies that she thought viewers were interested in good journalism, rather than sex and lowest common denominator entertainment, but that she was evidently wrong. She closes her reply with, "All I can say is, try these for size Connie Chung!",' ripping open her blouse and showing her bra. As the audience roars, she adds, "If it's raw thrills you want, it's raw thrills you're going to get!" And she spends the rest of the segment throwing suggestive glances at the camera between stories.
  • Broderick Crawford/Levon Helm, Dr. John, & The Meters: John Belushi doing an editorial on "the luck of the Irish". He quickly turns it into a speech about the "bad' luck of the Irish", which then turns into an extended rant about his friend Dan Sullivan, a "drunken, Irish junkie", with Jane Curtin trying in vain to calm him down. As with his other editorials, it escalates until he collapses in apoplexy.
  • Elliot Mc Garrigle Sisters & Roslyn Kind: Bill Murray as Nick the Lounge Singer.
  • Eric Idle/Alan Price & Neil Innes: The Running Gag of Queen Elizabeth II (Jeanette Charles) breaking out of the Telethon sketch and interrupting subsequent sketches to get viewers to call in to "Save Great Britain."
  • Buck Henry/Jennifer Warnes & Kenny Vance: The Land Shark makes an appearance in the Charles Lindbergh sketch.
