Funny / Rollo and the Spirit of the Woods

Go To

  • The first time Rölli's awakened by an alarm clock.
Rölli: You darnet gadget, won't you just stop?! [takes the clock outside and starts hitting it with a hammer] Darnet rattletrap! Of all the things in the world! [as the clock stops ringing, Rölli notices a black pony and addresses it politely] Good morning. [the clock starts ringing again, and Rölli starts hitting it again] Will you not stop, you darned thing?! [the ringing stops, and Rölli chuckles at the pony] A very essential gadget but a bit troublesome at times. [the ringing starts again, but Rölli just throws the clock into the flowerbed where it finally stops ringing and ticking]
    • The pony gives an air of indifference, which is amusing when combined with the ringing and Rölli's driveling.
    • The second time's a shortened version of the first one, but now there's four alarm clocks in the flowerbed.
  • When Millie asks Rölli how he's able to sleep in the middle of the day, he responds in a tone that's somewhat smug that he's always been good in bed. She covers her mouth in response.
  • After catching Millie, Lackey intends to use a catapult to send her back to her people, but when it's tested with Knobbly, he only ends up landing right in front of the catapult.
  • When the incredulous Cacophony questions Rölli's new position as the chieftain, Lackey tells him to "just blow in his pipe". In response, Cacophony plays a gratingly high tone with his clarinet, blowing the fumes right in Lackey's face.
Cacophony: [speaks with false joviality] Now I simply must ask you wise guys… [drops the friendly tone] WHAT SORT OF BUFFOONERY IS THIS?! Is this some…
Lackey: You just blow in that pipe of yours, you trumpet. [gets blown in the face through the clarinet] Not in the face! You raving mad!
    Cacophony: What an idiot.
    • While telling Cacophony to blow in his pipe, Lackey calls him "torvi" in Finnish. The word not only means a musical horn, but it also means "fool" in a colloquial sense.
  • When Millie pecks Rölli to thank him for saving her, he's so startled that he falls from his hammock and tries to run inside.
    • He tries to get back on his hammock twice in the same scene, only to fail both times.
  • When Cacophony's practicing his song on his veranda, Lackey — the only one who really hates listening to the song — is holding his ears until he's had enough and loudly rants threats to Cacophony who doesn't pay any attention to him.
Lackey: If you don't finally cease that infernal screaming, I'll drag you to that pond and feed you to herrings! Or worse, to piranhas! Or even worse, I'll feed you my old socks so that you'll choke on them! In the dark of the night! How would you like that? Stop!
  • Lackey's fate. He's hanged up during the celebration and adorned with flowers and pumpkins. He futilely tries to convince the children that he has turned nice so that they'd let him down. When that fails, he tries to take part in the celebration by singing badly.
