River City Girls is a pretty fun romp that keeps up much of the Kunio-Kun humor amid all the ass-kicking. Let's think about it...

    Main Game
  • Alright, alright, some people will think there's nothing inherently funny about a couple of girls beating the crap out of the entire town. Wait a minute, a couple of high-school girls beat the crap out of the entire town!?
  • How to revive a downed player when doing co-op play: STOMP ON YOUR PARTNER UNTIL HER SOUL GOES BACK INTO HER BODY!!
  • Recruiting mooks involves beating up everyone in the room until only one enemy is left. Leave that last mook with some health and he (or she) will beg for mercy. The various enemies that will beg for mercy will look rather pitiful and silly in the process, especially when they aren't school-children.
  • Kyoko doesn't attend Misako's school and manages to get stuck in detention with her. How could the teachers (let alone the principal) let this happen!?
  • The school principal doesn't call for regular security guards to apprehend the main girls. He asks the other delinquent students to beat up the girls instead!
  • An educational video about puberty doesn't really describe real puberty, but encourages the students to toughen up in the most ridiculous manner possible.
  • Why is Misuzu, a woman who failed to graduate from high school, working as the school security guard? Perhaps the principal hired her because she's good at bullying people and putting them back in line. This makes one wonder about the hiring standards in River City.
  • Misuzu's defeat animation is her on the floor crying a fountain of tears.
    Misuzu: "You're embarrassing me!"
  • How to get the keys to open the shopping mall: break into the security guard's house and somehow sneak to him without stepping on the squeaky toys strewn all over the floor.
  • Kyoko complaining about Yamada's flashback. Misako breaks the fourth wall just to explain it.
  • It is possible to shove Yamada off the roof during his boss fight! But just like what happens when the main girls fall into a Bottomless Pit, he'll just reappear (in his case, he magically teleports back into existence) with some of his hit-points shaved off.
  • How to get a gold object to get Hibari's attention? Go 8 floors down (with Kyoko complaining about walking all the way down, despite having run halfway across the city by this point - at least she isn't wearing high heels) and enter a pawn shop. To make things funnier, the pawn-broker is none other than Skullmageddon! The dialogue is worth the trip.
  • Good grief, Hibari is annoying! One way to down her without resorting to the usual misguided magic needle is to wall-jump and hopefully whack her in the face! It's depreciatingly funny when you think about it.
  • In Hibari's post-fight dialogue, Kyoko asks Hibari to teach her and Misako how to fly. No, Kyoko, you're already nasty enough without being able to fly around town.
  • Getting Kenji's supposed crane keys out of the trash compacter and fighting zombies in the process, with the compacter threatening to give the player an instant Game-Over. When you hand Kenji the keys, he'll already have realized that his keys were in his pocket the whole time. Kyoko complains about the mess, as she somehow got zombie brains in her mouth during the scuffle.
  • Abobo's current job isn't kidnapping, despite everyone else telling the player how scary he is and how he purportedly holds kids for ransom. So in essence, the main girls just beat him up for nothing. Just think, this guy crossed over from Double Dragon and got a promotion from mook to boss character, just to be beaten up by a couple of girls half his size.
  • Also, when they ask Abobo why he kidnaps people, his response is that his parents didn't love him enough. Kyoko at least appreciates his honesty.
  • The silliest weapon in the game has got to be the tuna fish. How anyone uses an oversized live fish as a bludgeon is beyond conventional thinking!
  • A rather odd Godai mission involves a unique school-boy enemy nicknamed One-Hit Tommy. It's not funny if you let him punch you, as you will be knocked out instantly. It's funny that he just shows up randomly camping the only accessible public lavatory in the area.
  • The only cheap way to heal up without buying healing items is to head to the sauna in the fancy hotel. You still have to pay a minimum of $20.
  • How Kyoko got expelled from school in the first place: She stole all the basketball hoops.
  • The fight with Noize features plenty of screaming fans climbing onto the stage. They'll get in your way and somehow do damage. Yes, it is possible to get death by random screaming fan.
  • Sabuko's shadow-split move has her posing with a silly look on her face. Really.
  • The regular end to the game has Kunio and Riki totally tell off Misako and Kyoko. This, after the girls literally crashed into the spa where the boys were staying the whole time. To make things worse for the player, it turns out Kunio and Riki were dating Hasabe and Mami respectively. It's not funny for the in-game characters, but seeing Misako and Kyoko punching everyone into the sky has got to take the cake for silly reactions.
    Other
  • Godai is pretty good at getting people to do what he wants especially as he set up the whole mess. Just how he manages not to get his butt kicked is beyond understanding. Also, he's voiced by Jacksepticeye!
    • Let's think about it. After meeting Godai on the street for the first time, the girls run into him in a dumpster in every district after the cross-town area. How does the guy not complain of smelly garbage?
  • The Fourth Wall seems to get vandalized a lot in this game, by both the in-game characters and the audience (when they complained to the developers).
  • Many older videogames have scantily-clad women as a "reward" for finishing the game or doing well. As a homage to some of said games, how does this game deal with that? Show off Kunio and Riki mid-shower, of course! Gender Flip at its most pointed.
