Funny / Girls' Last Tour

Go To

Although Girls' Last Tour is known to be depressing as the story goes on, it is not devoid of these moments.

Episode 1
  • In "War", Chito and Yuuri walk around a battlefield turned weapons graveyard, then they notice a wrecked tank. After staring at it for a while...
Chito: Go give it a try.
    Yuuri: [opens mouth wide] Aaaaaaaaaaa...
Chito: You should actually try it.
Yuuri: [turns to the direction of the tank's barrel] ...aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh—[chomps]
  • While eating one of the rations they found, Chito finds out that a single pack of rations has an odd number of five bars. She was about to consider splitting the last one in half when suddenly Yuuri takes it and points her rifle at Chito (who doesn't have a weapon herself). Though the scene looks tense, it turns out Yuuri was simply messing with Chito so she could eat the last bar right in front of her. Chito's reaction is to beat the crap out of her. A detail in the original manga also shows that Yuuri didn't even put her finger on the trigger.

Episode 2

  • After Chito and Yuuri find a hideout from the blizzard, Chito tries to exit the Kettenkrad to look for an entrance, but she is shivering so much that she falls head-first into the snow below.
  • While Chito is writing her journal containing memories of their travels, Yuuri dramatically utters that "memories just get in the way of living", prompting to this exchange:
Chito: Can you remember the last time you actually ate something?
Yuuri: ...Huh? Did we have anything to eat today?
    Chito: Seriously?
  • Yuuri unknowingly burns Chito's "Kappa" book due to running out of fuel for the fire, despite having just been told that books were important. Chito realizes and tries to put out the fire, gets despaired, then angrily sandwiches two of her remaining books between Yuuri's face, comically squeezing it.
Yuuri: I said I was sorry.
    Chito: Moron! Idiot! Garbage!
    Yuuri: Okay.
    Chito: Don't "okay" me!
    • As an apology, Yuuri decides to draw Chito's sleeping face with the text "I'M SORRY" on her journal. The next morning, Chito notices it and is confused at first but cracks a smile at it anyways (in the anime), while also pointing out that Yuuri, who is hopelessly illiterate, had misspelled her apology as "I'M SOKKY"note .
  • In The Stinger, Chito and Yuuri, after roasting and eating the fish they found in a pool of water, make the fish skeleton "swim" and bid it goodbye.

Episode 3

Episode 4

  • When the girls pass by the strange white statues, Yuuri points out that their faces look exactly like Chito's. You know, that facial expression she sometimes makes. Chito protests at this, so Yuuri tries to take a picture of Chito's face with Kanazawa's camera while she's driving to prove it, only for them to crash into one of the statues which then bonks their heads. And THEN Chito makes the face before slapping Yuuri.
  • The girls find the temple and start looking around, somewhat disappointed at the artificial nature of the place. As Chito begins taking photographs of the room, she says that if Yuuri keeps talking poorly of the temple, she will receive divine punishment. When Yuuri mentions a stone statue (presumably of a god or spirit) they accidentally toppled with their Kettenkrad earlier, Chito's face sticks in a nervous smile as she backpedals and says that was "just a stone statue."
  • At the end of the episode, Yuuri and Chito mull on the nature of paradise, and why humans might build a false idea of the afterlife. Chi muses that it's to give people comfort, to which Yuu responds that Chi must be a god then, as it was her presence in the dark that gave Yuu comfort, imagining Chi in place of the goddess statue. Chi immediately points out that gods are typically granted gifts, and demands Yuu's last ration, leading to a light-hearted argument as 'god' tries to snatch her offering from her tight-fisted follower.

Episode 5

  • As Chito and Yuuri start looking around in the apartments, after the latter asks if the Kettenkrad counts as a house, to which Chito says no:
    Yuuri: HOUSE sad.
    Chito: Shut up.
  • The wacky dream Chito has, where Yuuri is suddenly huge and starts messing with Chito while she's standing on the rock tower that they recently played a game with, and later becomes a whale and goes to chomp her like the fish they ate earlier.
  • The reason the girls were so tired that day? They stayed up too late playing a rock balancing game, which Yuuri had won eleven times.

Episode 6

  • Ishii gets too busy analyzing the flight of her prototype airplane to notice the two girls standing in front of her (one with a rifle in her hands, at that), and after a while, she gets startled by them.
    • When Chito introduces themselves to Ishii, Yuuri tries to go for a "And together we're..." moment and gets left hanging.

Episode 7

  • Chito and Yuuri come across a conveyor belt with a grinder. Yuuri activates it with a button while Chito is standing on it, forcing her to run against the conveyor until Yuuri turns it off. Then Yuuri activates it again and the process repeats. When Chito expresses her annoyance at this, Yuuri tells her that all she had to do was run sideways.
  • The Stinger: After the girls baked their own rations, Yuuri shows Chito her tray where she made cookies of many shapes and forms, including Chito's stone face.
