  • This line from "Wake Me Up":
Ed: I've always been shit at computer games and your brother always beats me. And if I lost, go across, and chuck all the controllers at the TV.
  • His freestyle song with Example about their shared love for Nandos.
  • Every single second of his Never Mind the Buzzcocks episode, really, but particularly the conversation that follows after he reveals out of nowhere that he "usually pass[es] out around the second time."
Richard Ayoade (the host): Ed, you don't have to share this much.
  • His cover of "CoCo" by O.T. Genasis, and the fact that he performs it as The Comically Serious.
  • His entire twitter account counts, but this particular exchange with James Blunt stands out.
  • Ed once went on a date where all he did was build a LEGO set of a ship from Pirates of the Caribbean, then leave once he was done. He didn't even give his date the completed set as a gift. He also mentioned that the first thing he bought with his money from his #1 album was to buy a LEGO Death Star.
Josh Widdicombe: And how of us two, you're the one that's getting laid?
  • "They say I'm up and coming like I'm fucking in an elevator" from "You Need Me, I Don't Need You".
  • Ed became a meme among the Love Live! fanbase after a technical gaffe caused a photo of him to appear on the screen during a livestream held to commemorate the first anniversary of the Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS video game, much to the confusion and amusement of the host and voice actresses present. This led to the fanbase jokingly interpreting the gaffe as a "surprise announcement" that Ed would be joining Nijigasaki High's School Idol Club as a new member, with some creating fanmade game assets featuring Ed as such. To add to the humor, Aguri Onishi, who voiced Ayumu Uehara in the game, appeared to show more interest in the photo than the other voice actresses present, and called Ed "handsome". This has led some fans to then jokingly ship them.
  • His appearance on Hot Ones is full of comedy gold and many a Precision F-Strike, but when, having managed to get past Da Bomb, he gets to the end, clearly suffering, and host Sean Evans invites him to add extra hot sauce to the last wing, he comes out with this gem:
Ed: [opening the bottle of sauce] I have this Northern Irish friend who says, if you're gonna get done for nicking a horse, you might as well f*** it.
