Funny / Azure Striker Gunvolt 3

Go To

  • Poor Gunvolt. Unlike past games, he ends up having a side of Butt-Monkey this time around to go with his typical Iron Woobie treatment:
    • After the intro stage where Kirin subdues Primal Dragon Gunvolt, he briefly regains his human form... then quickly turn into the raijuu form he's seen most of the game. Even his company ID portrait is changed to match. And this is just the start of his problems.
GV: Why exactly have I turned into this... dog-thing?
    • Also, let's not forget that Kirin subdues berserk GV with a kiss. Basically, the intro stage boss is a fairy tale with a princess, a dragon and a knight... except the girl is the knight, and the princess and the dragon are the same entity.
    • How the Bureau treats Dogvolt, including:
      • Kirin denying GV chocolate claiming that chocolate is poisonous to dogs.
      • Shiron hugging GV before GV can say no.
      • Cayman asking GV to stand on his back while he's doing push-ups. And on a later occasion dragging GV to exercise with him much to GV's chagrin.
    • If one has the GV? Image Pulse equipped, the hilarity of Dogvolt will only be increased even more as he ends up transformed further into a puppy version of his Dogvolt form! And yes, this alters his portrait and sprite in the game as well, making him go from a Badass Adorable dog to just flat-out adorable.
  • The rest of the Bureau.
    • BB's bizarre vocabulary which leaves Kirin and GV befuddled.
GV: Oh, BB, I've been meaning to ask you... It's about the strange vocabulary you use all the time...
BB: Wazzat? I'm always being 100% on the level, nothing strange about my flow dude. Are we not copacetic here?
GV: Uhhh... That's exactly what I'm talking about.
    • Kirin offhandedly telling BB to answer a phone call, only to regret it a split-second later... only to be left dumbfounded when BB answers the phone in a professional manner unlike his usual style.
Kirin: Sooo... you can talk like a normal person?
      BB: ?
    • BB and Lumen continue Azure Striker Gunvolt's proud tradition on being confused about instant noodles. Plus GV's exasperated sigh.
    • When thinking about what games Dogvolt can play, Shiron suggests whack-a-mole. The mental image of Dogvolt holding a hammer in his mouth makes Kirin completely lose it.
    • Shiron expecting GV to turn into a motorcycle or a spaceship just because he's a magical dog.
Kirin: What exactly do you think dogs do, Shiron...?
    • Cayman being a total Dumb Muscle who can't just seem to do things normally (such as climbing the outside of the building instead of riding the escalator), don't seem to care that carrying huge animals to work is not normal, and is Sarcasm-Blind.
  • Lady Serpentine Lovers League. Turns out ATEMS' Serpentine is such a bombshell that several ATEMS soldiers simp for her, professing their love to her while Kirin and GV proceeds through the level. And then BB joins in the conversation, leaving Kirin and GV unenthusiastically speechless.
  • Sunrise Palace 2
    • The first Dual Boss fight with Viper and Jota is appropriately serious for the most part, but there's a moment where Viper, upon witnessing Kirin giving Gunvolt encouragement, angrily decries GV as a "playboy" who's already found another girl.
    • The second Dual Boss fight with Zonda and Tenjian is also rather serious, but this time Zonda starts flirting with Kirin after her attempted defiant call-out at the pair trying to pull a Breaking Speech on Gunvolt, complete with all but offering a threesome with her and GV. Kirin quickly asks Gunvolt for verbal support against the pervert.
    • Version 1.2.0 adds a new dual boss, and it's a total disaster.
      • First of all, it's Teseo and Merak. Not only they belong in opposing organizations, Merak hates Teseo's guts, outright stating that he would have rather had Viper, Jota, or "that magnetic gorilla" (Carrera).
      • Gunvolt reacts in shock upon seeing the two... then proceeds to ask who they are.
      • After hearing enough of Teseo's Leet Lingo, Kirin labels his speech as "coming from dark ages", much to his shock.
      • One of their Combination Attack has Teseo prepare an attack, only for Merak to Megaton Punch him and send him flying through multiple portals (and in hard difficulty, Merak gives Teseo a second punch when Teseo is still flying). Naturally, Teseo angrily calls Merak out for it, to which Merak's reaction is basically "Oops, my bad". Better yet, right before punching Teseo, Merak clearly gives a shrug as if to say, "Oh, well, someone is about to get hurt".
  • In the cutscene before fighting Asimov, he asks Gunvolt to join him in a rather unusual way.
Asimov: Having you by my side, Gunvolt, would be like giving a bodybuilder a rocket launcher!
  • Epilogue: ATEMS Episode:
    • Zed proves himself quite the ladies' man, shamelessly flirting with his knights in stage banters and flustering them to no end. The crowning moment, however, is when he tries to seduce Shiron, who understandably blows up for being mistaken for a girl.
    • During Megafloat Neptune stage, we get to hear Prado in all her melodramatically bombastic glory, speaking her lines on top of her lungs, including accidentally telling the team that she slips and falls into the water.
