Fridge Brilliance
- Aside from him just preferring "Joe", the only person who called Joe "Joseph" other than Peach is Mr. Mooney, his abusive father figure. Obviously he'll hate being called that.
- Even if Joe submitted the script to Dimitri, didn't get killed for letting Forty escape, got his passport back and escaped to the airport, the LSD would have kicked in either when he's at the airport or on the plane and he would have been arrested or hospitalised. By then, Delilah would have been able to escape, reveal Joe's crimes and have him arrested for Henderson's murder.
- Love not pulling a Go Through Me or attempting to wrestle the gun away from Forty as he points it at Joe may hint that she doesn't really truly love him.
- After using "wolf" as a synonym for love, Joe and Love eventually poison each other with wolfsbane.
- Gil was right: Love should fear toxic injections...
- Love's initial treatment of Joe is a red flag, kissing him without permission, trying to pressure him into a relationship and throwing mini-tantrums when he becomes uncomfortable.
- As Gemma makes offensive comments, Joe wonders if it's legal for her say them. The UK does have hate speech laws, though they are rather iffy.
- During Joe's dream confrontation with figures from his past, it is no surprise that Beck and Love feature so prominently. But the only victim of Joe's London rampage to appear in the dream is Gemma, which seems odd until one remembers the way Joe sees himself vis-a-vis women. Even on his own subconscious his female victims are the only ones that matter.
- The reason Joe was initially unwilling to get into a relationship with Kate may be due to a subconscious desire to make things up with Marienne.
- It's probably not a coincidence that Joe got to killing Rhys was after learning that he embellished his autobiography, the very thing that got Joe obsessed with him.
- Beck is noticeably more hostile and aggressive to Joe in his second hallucination of her than in his first. After all the murders he committed, she would have given up on him.
- Phoebe going to Thailand to teach kids English could have been borne out of her epiphany to avoid being manipulated and controlled and to be seen for what she truly is than her money and status.
- Why does Joe go through the effort to frame Hugo for Tom's murder when he was already planning to commit suicide? He still wants Kate to love him even in death, possibly thinking that she will cross the Despair Event Horizon if she learned that he killed her father.
- Joe’s clinginess, hero complex, hidden dark side and American accent may have reminded Kate of her father. That would explain why she was both repulsed and attracted to Joe.
Fridge Horror
- Beck was right; Joe was the best thing to ever happen to her writing.
- In Season 3, it's revealed that Gil's son is a sexual predator who has violently raped at least two women, at least starting from when he was a teenager. In Gil and his wife's photographs, it's clear that they have younger daughters (which their son can be seen playing with). Has he already abused them?
- After forcing Joe to strip naked after he murders Elijah (to get rid of his clothes so they won't be evidence), Mr Mooney creepily gives Joe a hug. Rather than being relieved as though physical affection is common in their relationship or confused as though it isn't, Joe is visibly panicked and horrified, as though Mooney had made him strip in the past for other reasons. Joe is also disgusted when Henderson claims to be a victim of child molestation and when he accuses Joe of also being a molestation victim, Joe furiously pulls his mask off.
- Beck and Delilah both have bandages on their heads when they wake up inside their glass cages. They probably tried to put up a fight against Joe but were overpowered and knocked out.
- Delilah being cornered by Joe next to his glass cage and then backing away when presented with handcuffs. Being trapped by a man she trusted likely brought back memories of Henderson and by this point she didn't trust Joe not to rape her like he did.
- While Joe is a bastard, at least he is only attracted to consenting adult women. The show would be tenfold more disturbing if he had no compunctions with rape, and a hundred times more disturbing if his "You" was a vulnerable little girl.
- What happened to poor Officer Fincher after he killed the only son of the wealthy Quinn family, who Love said practically owned the LAPD?
- Love's reason for using aconite. She claims it's only to temporarily paralyze, forcing her partner to sit and talk things out. However she also used it on James, who was deaf and only spoke in ASL with his hands, which she would have paralyzed. At best, she was going to imprison James somewhere until the paralysis wore off and hope he would forgive her and talk. At worst, Love wasn't ever planning on talking through their issues...
- People rarely carry around poison syringes around with them. Perhaps Joe was planning to kill Love even before she attempted to kill him.
- Marienne is lucky that Joe went with the story of her overdosing after her apparent death. If he concluded that it would be too shameful and that it would have been better if she remained missing, he may have dumped her into a river, dismembered her, buried her alive or simply abandoned her to rot in the cage. Or if he took up Marienne on her begging him to Mercy Kill her and shot/stabbed/strangled/suffocated/starved/beat her to death.
- Phoebe isn't ever seen talking to Kate again after Kate and Joe were thrown out of her wedding. It's possible she broke off their friendship, especially if Phoebe concluded that Kate or her father were involved in Adam's murder.
- Phoebe kicked off her shoes, dropped off her bridal veil and is seen grasping and tugging at her dress right before the elevator doors close, which could imply she stripped naked before walking around in public, which would have resulted in humiliation and disgrace after photos of her were taken and spread around as soon as she recovered. That may be why she left to work with Thai children who never heard of the scandal.
- Seeing that she's going down for a double murder, Nadia's likely getting a life sentence and will never get out of prison. Due to Joe doing...stuff to Rhys during their interrogation, it's also possible she will be branded a pervert or rapist.
- Any chance Dr Nicky had of getting exonerated just went down the toilet with Joe's newfound wealth and clean reputation.
