Fridge Brilliance

  • It's been mentioned in episodes like "Vamping Trip" and "Little Terror" that vampires don't like the color pink, yet Vee herself wears pink, as do Poppy and Bridget, her friends. Vee's toys also have some pink on them. Seems contradictory? Not really. Vee herself wears a pink, short sleeved shirt with a dark blue skirt dress, while Poppy wears an orange shirt under her pink sweater and pants, which has red shading on it to make it more pink-red. Bridget has a yellow mini skirt and blue pants. Plus, many of Vee's toys are complemented by accessories of various colors like dark purple, dark blue, and gray. It's not that vampires don't like pink. It's that they don't like what it represents, stereotypical femininity, which is often conforming. As long as any pink is in small amounts and/or complemented by another color, it shows that people and objects can be girly, but they're not defined by it, which fits the show's theme on embracing uniqueness and how everyone should embrace being different.
    • A good example of this is in "Vee Is For Valentine", where Vee is shown to be quite disgusted at the amount of pink and red hearts put up for Valentine's Day. The regular Valentines that she gives later on are primarily pink, but also have traces of dark purple and blue, while the descriptions themselves are spooky.
      • It's almost like she's the vampire equivalent of a goth human kid...
  • There are times where Vee doesn't mind going out in broad daylight, while other times, she does. Seems contradictory to both the show's lore and vampire lore, right? Not really. "The Sleepover" showed her using a lamp to simulate daylight to help her fall asleep at night. If she has something to help her sleep at night, she most likely has something to help her stay out in the day, like sunscreen. It's just not lasting long. As for why we don't see her using it, vampires have super speed, so she could do it while preparing for her day. Plus, they have a business to run for humans and monsters, so they need something like this to help stay awake in the day.
  • Vee hangs around with Bridget despite her cowardly tendencies. Why is she not annoyed with her? Well, the pilot showed Bridget attempting to visit the house, but running away when she's scared. It's established that while Vee isn't the best when it comes to human culture, she at least has enough common sense when she's calm or in control to know how other people act in general. She gives Bridget time to adjust to scary things since she knows she's making an effort to fit in better, just like her.
    • This also stands to reason as to why she didn't tell Bridget about accidentally freezing the class, including her, in "Nanpire The Great". They were in a classroom, a public place, where she would've most likely freaked out. If the mishap happened at home, then she could've told her upfront since it was in private.
  • Why does Vee reveal her vampire nature to Poppy and Bridget, but not to Edgar? Building on the pilot, Edgar can let his desire for fame cloud his judgement, and make him quick to jump on anything out of the ordinary. On top of that, he made a nonchalant comment on how boring playing with dolls are, inadvertently showing that he supported a type of conformity, which the show is against, since he didn't hide his disdain, unlike Poppy and Bridget at least trying to take steps to integrate. Why does she consider him a friend? The pilot showed that he actually like the possibility of Vee's house being haunted, meaning that he could potentially be accepting of who Vee is. She just wants him to be in control of himself before telling him. Consider the episode "Vamping Trip". Once he let go of his obsession with trying to find a monster, Vee and Poppy have a good time playing with him.

Fridge Horror

  • In "Vampire Weekend", Vee and Poppy switched places and, had they not switched back, Vee would have stayed a human forever. It's not mentioned in the episode but that would mean Vee's lifespan would be so shortened that her parents would outlive her for several centuries.
  • "Nanpire the Great" features a soup that mustn't be served too soon or too late. Vee serves it too soon and it freezes her classmates. Based on that, it's horrifying to think about what would have happened had the soup been served too late.
  • "Ghoul Guides Save the Day!" has Edgar finding out that Vee and her family are monsters, but is convinced to never tell anyone the secret in a very heartwarming moment. Now imagine if in some alternative universe Edgar was much more of a jerk and released the secret anyway in the case of fame. How would humans react to the fact that they're being surrounded by monsters? Most monsters aren't against humans being next to them when they're in monster country like Transylvania, but a ton of them are in a very densely packed human country, Pennsylvania. Vee's family would be hunted down by the Paparazzi (and in an even worse case, might be hunted down by assassins perhaps sent out by someone who simply doesn't trust the monsters) and probably would have to flee to a place they'd be more safe. That's not even getting into the possibility of perhaps armies going after the monsters in Transylvania..
