Fridge / The Famous Five

• Fridge Logic: There were many small inconsistencies in the narratives.
  • In Five on a Treasure Island, the Five uncover a disused well, down which they believe Timmy has fallen. Julian drops a stone down it to test the depth, but there is no thud or splash. Just before they shine a torch down the well, and discover Timmy inside, sitting on a stone slab which had stuck a little way down, and unhurt by the stone Julian dropped down.
  • In Five Go Adventuring Again, the Five ask which side of Kirrin Farmhouse faces east. Mrs Sanders tells them the kitchen faces due north, so east will be over there, and points to the right. The Five then go out of the kitchen, and turn to the right; but to do this, they would facing south before they turn right.
  • In Five Go To Smuggler's Top, a major plot point is that the manservant Block is deaf, believed especially by Mr Lenoir. However, Mr Lenoir simply cannot understand why Block does not respond to the bell being rung in his room.
  • In Five Have a Wonderful Time, Timmy is made to wait outside Faynights Castle, because dogs are not allowed in. However, he suddenly bounds up to them inside the courtyard. Later, the Five tell him to show how he got in. He leads them to an entrance in the castle's outer wall, which does not lead into the courtyard, but into the castle's secret passages.
