• Given what we see during the "creation of the 'Bitsy' sequence", the Back Room Boys of both sides were messing around with, squeezing and squishing an extremely powerful substance that they don't really understand yet. Everyone concerned was lucky that they didn't accidentally exceed the limit and explode the prototype during creation (if you can call what eventually happens "lucky").
• If either side drops its "Bitsy", it will definitely result in mutual eradication — whether out of vindictiveness or due to how hard it is to hold a bomb safely during an Earth-Shattering Kaboom.
  • Hell, even if the other side holds on to theirs initially, either it'll drop on its own once the holder is inevitably killed or the explosion from the first dropped "Bitsy" will be sufficient to detonate the other one.
  • The two drop sites are a few yards apart. Both sides would be destroyed whether the second bomb goes off or not.
• Assuming that the standoff ends the way it did in the real Cold War, it was only pure luck that stopped the BBBB from getting dropped. If Grandpa and Van Itch hadn't gone to the wall at exactly the same time, whichever one that reached it first would have just used it without the threat of immediate reciprocation, as the other bomb would have still been on its own side at the time had that been the case. The grandson probably accidentally saved the world by delaying Grandpa just long enough not to beat Van Itch to the punch.
• The Yooks are ordered to take shelter before learning the other side has a similar weapon, meaning they expected catastrophic destruction on their side of the wall by their own weapon. It's pretty much clear both weapon being thrown at once will kill everyone.
