Fridge Brilliance

  • The Jem'Hadar capture Garak and Worf pretty much as soon as they're away from the wormhole despite their best efforts at evading notice. Which makes sense, because the Changeling Bashir knew they were going and obviously sent word when turning Garak in didn't do the trick.
  • In retrospect The Reveal about the Bashir Changeling does offer an alternate explanation for how the baby Changeling gave Odo his powers back in "The Begotten": it was a reward after the Changeling saw how Odo treated the baby. Though that does imply the Changeling may have deliberately done something to the baby (or only pretended to get rid of all the radiation it had been exposed to) in order to allow for the absorption/restoration.

Fridge Horror

  • The fact that the Bashir changeling was presumably on the station during the events of "The Begotten" (as the change in uniform suggests he's been there since before "Rapture" at least) puts that episode's B-plot in a whole new creepy light. Imagine realizing that the doctor who helped deliver your baby, someone you thought was a known and implicitly trusted friend, was actually an impostor — and one with confirmed malign intent at that. It's multiple levels of horrifying. In retrospect this perhaps also explains why "Bashir" was so willing to bug out (supposedly to handle surgeries) when Shakaar was late in arriving, and means it was definitely the right choice of the O'Briens to use the Bajoran midwife.
  • The fact that a Changeling has had access to all of Bashir's records for a month. So now the Dominion might know all about Bashir's work with the Teplans and that the Blight has been at least kinda cured. Are the Teplans at risk of further punishment because of this?
