  • The video for "Umbilical":
    • Yuno, whose crime was getting an abortion, is surrounded by lots of balloons everywhere. The string on the balloon can be interpreted as the umbilical cord, which connects an unborn baby to its mother...and at the beginning of the video, Yuno lets go of the string.
    • At 0:58, Yuno holds a balloon containing five smaller balloons with both hands, which could imply she had multiple abortions (especially if she was engaging in Compensated Dating for months or years) or aborted one pregnancy that would have resulted in multiple babies. Alternatively, the smaller balloons represent the developing organs of the baby, given that one of them is red and shaped like a heart.
    • At 1:05, white balloons are floating upwards in the background that look like sperm.
    • When she goes on a nighttime date, a champagne glass filled with water can be seen on the table.
    • Yuno has a daisy pattern on her phone case. In Celtic mythology, daisies are associated with the deaths of children.
  • The video for "I Love You" features a carousel spinning around and around, which could represent the cyclic nature of Mahiru's toxic relationship with her boyfriend — in other words, Mahiru and her boyfriend are going through the same problems again and again without resolving them. And at the end of the video, the carousel only stops moving when the boyfriend hangs himself.
  • Fuuta wears a medical mask on his chin. It’s symbolic of caring about other people, but utterly useless as it’s worn. Just like how he claims his cyber bullying is for justice, but is only self serving and toxic.
  • Kotoko's second voice drama is called 'YONAH'. This is a Genius Bonus- 'Yonah' is the English transliteration of the Hebrew name Jonah. In the Bible, Jonah was commanded by God to go to the city of Nineveh and deliver a prophecy of their destruction. Jonah tried to avoid doing so (which is how he wound up in the belly of a whale), but eventually did as God commanded. However, when he delivered the prophecy, the people of Nineveh repented their sins and God decided not to destroy them, and Jonah was left angry that God hadn't done as he said he would. Kotoko punished the guilty, but Es was upset and hadn't wanted them punished, and Kotoko was upset that Es hadn't intended to do so.
