Fans have questioned why Billy would be so upset and angry about Brooke faking being pregnant and miscarrying (she in reality had a false positive) even though he didn't truly love her throughout the majority of their marriage. Aside from his hatred of liars and manipulators, he also had endured a true miscarriage with Amanda a few seasons earlier and how he was still hurt from that.
Many people have pointed out the continuity error that Jane describes herself as an only child just a few episodes before Sydney shows up; but if you had a sister like Sydney, wouldn't you want to pretend she didn't exist?
If Amanda managed to fake her death to get away from Jack, then how on Earth did her father locate her since she allegedly cut off all of her ties, including from her own family?
Also, if she faked her death to make sure Jack didn't come after her, then why did she feel the need to become the head of a very public and successful advertising agency? Even if she made sure to never do business in Miami (Miami, not the entire state) and she was on the other side of the country, her status would have been discovered eventually, even without Brooke's social-climbing meddling.
Even with Billy divorcing Brooke and freezing their joint bank account, her spending her mother's ten grand inheritance on a down payment for the house and getting herself fired from D&D, why couldn't she sell her wedding band to give herself some money to tie her over?
How exactly did Brooke and Sydney keep their jobs at D&D Advertising and Burns & Mancini MD, respectively? Considering all the backstabbing and misery they caused their bosses (blackmailing Amanda to climb the social ladder and being directly responsible for bringing her abusive husband back into her life and helping Michael in driving Kimberly crazy, spilling several embarrassing and private secrets about Peter, and trying to manipulate them to gain access to Amanda's ex's vast estate), why couldn't they just be fired? It would have saved themselves a lot of grief in the long run.
