• Gaara concluded that the people of Konoha were saner than the people of Suna, despite the fact that Team Seven are pretty nuts to those not in the know. But considering that Suna sealed a demon in him, knew he had sand based powers and repeatedly try to kill him in a desert where those powers would be at their strongest and where he basically had a unlimited arsenal, his conclusion makes perfect sense. Konoha's people are well aware (in this timeline) that the Demon and the Vessel are two different entities while Suna seems to think of him as the demon even before he started killing so of course he would think of them as rational.
