Fridge / Doctor Who S29 E13 "Last of the Time Lords"

Fridge Brilliance

  • If Jack is indeed The Face of Boe, then it would explain how the Face of Boe knew that there was another Time Lord besides The Doctor. Jack was there when the Doctor discovered that The Master was still alive.
  • While there is no way that it could be deliberate foreshadowing, the episode title takes on a new meaning after the Timeless Child retcon, which reveals that The Doctor isn't a time lord, meaning that, at least at the time, the Master was the Last of the Time Lords, making the title an Antagonist Title. Furthermore the Doctor refereed to The Master as "The Only Time Lord left in existence" suggesting the possibility that The Doctor subconsciously remembered the truth about their past; that they weren't a Time Lord.

Fridge Horror

  • The creation of the Paradox Machine carries rape overtones if you think about it. The Master, having invaded the Doctor's ship, home, and only constant companion, proceeds to turn it, or her, since the TARDIS is alive, into a sick joke.
  • And of course the many and sundry ways you could kill someone, and how there's someone who can't die. Poor Jack.
    • More than that — put someone who can't die in the custody of someone who has died, over and over again... The Master can get incredibly creative.
  • President Winters' death still occuring and not being reversed doesn't seem all that horrifying at first due to him being an arrogant, pompous and hypocritical blowhard, but then one recalls that as far as the rest of the world is concerned, the UK Prime Minister just murdered the US President, an act of war. At the very least, the special relationship between the UK and US probably won't be so special anymore.
    • Given how confusing everything is, UNIT might have been able to smooth things over.
