Fridge Brilliance

  • In Episode 2, Danny is using the hibachi grills he bought the previous episode originally for the intention of killing himself to grill beef, he's literally chanelling the energy he used to kill himself towards the (not-as-literal) beef he has with Amy!
    • One box of hibachi grills is shown having fallen off his truck during his road rage with his Amy. His suicide attempt may have likely succeeded had he been able to use these extra sets - the road rage might have literally saved his life!
  • In Episode 9, Jordan mentions to Isaac the concept of 'zugzwang', the point in chess where you have to make a move, but every move is a loss. At the point where Naomi has to decide when to close the door, every 'move' is a loss: either Jordan gets in but it proves personally disastrous when she has mistreated Naomi throughout the episode, Jordan gets locked out and is at the mercy of Bobby or her actual demise where she is cut in half by the panic room door.
  • How does June end up in Danny's truck in episode 8? It's because when Danny's introduced to her, he tells her he always keeps Skittles in his truck.
  • Danny struggles to find higher-paying work and more frequent contracts, and Amy struggles to feel fulfilled by her business. The reasons why becomes obvious in episodes 9 and 10: Danny makes an obvious mistake while wiring his parents’ new home, which leads to it burning down: he claims Amy’s negative review is driving down customers, but it’s more likely a combination of clients getting a second opinion from better contractors and word of mouth between clients about his shoddy work that is resulting in low work and pay. Amy knows she is a fraud who does not actually understand all that much about plants, and who would find work they don’t understand fulfilling?
  • In Episode 10, Amy offers some berries to Danny as an act of generosity which turns wrong when it turns out they've eaten poisoned berries. Had she chosen to eaten all the berries though, it's likely that she'd have died - thus her one (more) moment of having brought Danny pain also being a moment that inadvertently saved her life. It could also be a metaphor for she and Danny sharing in the pain and expelling (literally through the vomit and later by their relating to each other in their hallucinogenic states
    • Also in Episode 10, George unflinchingly shoots Danny the moment he sees him in proximity of Amy. The last time he hesitated, Danny knocked him out and kidnapped (even if advertently) June.

Fridge Horror

  • The amount of trauma Junie has by the end of series...tragically, she did not escape the cycle of intergenerational trauma Amy was so afraid of.
