Fridge Brilliance:

  • A well-lit fridge.
  • Season two had a darker color palette than season one. At first, it seems that the show did this as a parody of crime shows with the same palette. However, it can also be seen as a reflection of Angie's post-coma state of mind, not to mention the state of Angie and Geils' relationship due to him dating Scholls. Once Geils broke up with Scholls towards the end of the season, the palette started brightening up again, back to its original form when Angie and Geils reunite.
  • A recent season three episode has Angie and Tanner showing great disregard for Scholl's theory that a murder victim was hurled from space. At first, they seem harsh because her theory is too out there. Then, you remember that Tanner just helped Scholls with her gambling while covering for her at work, and doesn't really trust her judgment. Meanwhile, Angie might still be bitter about her hooking up with Geils while she was in a coma, especially since she and Geils just broke up again.
  • One way of telling if a female character is a bad guy is to just contrast her against Angie. Angie rarely acts on her own femininity, so she can be seen as masculine. Detectives Lukin and Goldstein can also come off as pretty masculine, yet they are the good guys (Even though Lukin hates Angie.) Women like her cousin Vivian, the wedding planner, Diane Duran, Victoria the robot, and the femme fatale who framed Geils all play up their womanly wiles to their advantages while committing crimes like murder. The only female who does this and isn't a villain is Scholls, and she is Angie's rival for Geils.
  • At first, it seems odd that the Hunter would choose to go after Scholls instead of Angie, who has been set up as his arch-nemesis. However, keep in mind that until now, he has been winning against the team. Every episode that has featured him resulted in him successfully killing his victims while Angie has failed to save them. He then unleashes a virus, only for Scholls to find a cure in time. Basically, the Hunter is angry that Scholls has handed him his first major defeat!

Fridge Horror:

  • Moldy yogurt.
  • Eddie Pepper is the real reason for Mayor Perry's success. First off, the mayor was the victim of a vicious hack, followed by having a mole in his camp murdering his donors. As Eddie stepped up his attacks to the point where murder was involved, it just added to the sympathy for the mayor. Heck, on Election Day, the mayor was nearly killed multiple times in public! Eddie's attempts to rid LA of the mayor only served to help him in the end.
  • Geils has even more reason to worry about Angie's obsession with The Hunter, who is killing white rich men. Between him, the chemistry between her and the Zookeeper, and Eddie Pepper, the anarchist who tried to destroy the mayor, it's looking like Angie goes for a certain kind of men: criminals.
