Maimaimaigoen (まいまいまいごえん) is a multimedia ensemble horror-drama series released by Sanrio in 2021. A group of 16 nursery school students, along with their teachers—Yuu Okada and his senior Ms. Rumi—are on a field trip to Sanrio Puroland, when the group suddenly finds themselves in a deserted, ominous theme park known as "Yuropia".
They're confronted by creatures known as Froggy Eggs, who explains to the group that in order to return to their world, they must complete all the park's attractions and collect 10 medals each.
The series has received a manga, a game, and several tie-in songs courtesy of a number of Vocal Synth producers.
Maimaimaigoen contains examples of:
- Class Trip: The class of the Hydrangea Nursery School were supposed to have been on a field trip to Sanrio Puroland. That is, until the group gets trapped inside of Yuropia.
- Deadly Game: Yuropia contains a multitude of attractions, which reward medals upon successfully completing them. Failing to complete the attraction successfully can result in death in of itself, but there's also the matter of having enough medals to pay off the daily fees, and if one fails to do so, they will be turned into an egg that gets consumed by the Froggy Eggs.
- Killed Off for Real: Being a series centered around death game, at least one of the characters is killed off in some way. Exactly who dies depends on the medium.
- Talks Like a Simile: Zoya has a habit of using similes to describe things. For instance, thinking that Yuropia is as unpleasant as "borscht with sugar".
- Verbal Tic: The Froggy Eggs end their sentences with "-demi".
