Foreshadowing / Bound Destinies Trilogy

Go To

Foreshadowing is something that occurs quite frequently throughout the Bound Destinies Trilogy. In fact, it happens so often that it would be impossible to contain all instances of it on the Main page, so they have been compiled here, for your convenience. Spoilers ahead.

Blood and Spirit
  • The dream that Link and Zelda have both apparently been having at the start of chapter 1 is one: it hits to their discovery of Termina and meeting Terminus, something that happens in the very next chapter.
    • Also in chapter 1, Zelda mentions the Sheikah to Link, and the entire tribe becomes a very important plot point later on.
    • One more for chapter 1; Zelda mentions that the seal she cast upon the Triforce "won't hold up" forever, implying that a new one will need to be put upon it. Much later on, in chapter 38, her and Link finally end up sealing the Triforce away in the Sacred Realm, which, in and of itself is foreshadowing to the events of Ocarina Of Time.
  • The entire conversation between Link and Zelda at the end of chapter 2 seems to imply that something bad is going to happen to Link, and it does; he gets almost fatally wounded in the next chapter, thus beginning the corruption he suffers throughout most of the story
  • When Terminus says that she hopes the Fierce Deity's Mask will "be used to aid Termina in a future time", she is foreshadowing to its role in both Majora's Mask, as well as Wisdom and Courage.
  • In chapter 7, Zelda tells Link that the surface doesn't have to be so empty any more, clearly implying that she wants to marry him and have children some day; both of these things happen by the end of the story.
  • Fi's appearance in chapter 9 is foreshadowing to her true entrance into the story in the very next chapter.
  • The beast described in chapter 14 is confirmed by Word of God to be Bongo Bongo of Ocarina of Time fame, hinting that it was created by the Dark Interlopers and that their fortress was the Shadow Temple which is also Veran's headquarters in Wisdom and Courage.
