Two Weeks in September (French title: À coeur joie) is a 1967 British-French romantic drama film directed by Serge Bourguignon.

Cecile (Brigitte Bardot) travels to London for two weeks to do modeling work. While there, she enters into an ardent affair with the passionate and handsome Vincent (Laurent Terzieff), in spite of the fact that she already has a long-term lover, Philippe (Jean Rochefort), back in France.

Tropes:

  • Funny Background Event: Cecile and Vincent walk in the park and talk in a wide shot that also shows a man playing fetch with his dog and having a difficult time getting the dog to give him the stick back.
  • Gilligan Cut: Cecile meets Vincent at a restaurant and says she's only going to have a drink with him. Cut to multiple dirty dishes on the table.
  • The Immodest Orgasm: It's never actually heard onscreen, but after spending the night with Vincent at a castle, Cecile is told that she made certain sounds that activated a machine designed to record bird cries.
  • Love Triangle: Cecile is split between a long-time partner who's dull and older than her, and an exciting, handsome stranger she meets during Bastille Day and then again in London.
  • Race for Your Love: In the end, Philippe hears about the affair and threatens to come get Cecile, so Vincent decides to take a plane to wherever and gives Cecile the choice to come with him. She chooses Vincent but is too late to board the plane, resulting in a scene of her running down the airport to try to catch him. She doesn't arrive in time.
  • The Stoic: Philippe is perhaps too dispassionate, which plays a hand in Cecile drifting away from him and into Vincent's arms.
