Titanic 666 is a horror movie released by The Asylum that was released on the 110th anniversary of the Titanic sinking in 2022, serving as a sequel to the 2010 movie Titanic II.

It revolves around the launching of Titanic III, yet another ship designed to emulate the Titanic, and the adventures of a group of influencers called Jackson and Mia as their clashes with Cochran as it makes its fateful trip. It is a ship called after the Titanic however, and it is soon clear that there are paranormal forces lurking underneath the sea, not to say about a mysterious red-headed woman who believes that grave-robbing is being committed on the wreck of the original...

Tropes in this movie:

  • Anyone Can Die: Most certainly - by the time the movie ends, the only character seemingly still alive who we've spent any particular time with is Nancy.
  • Artistic License – History:
    • The opening credits suggest that Titanic fell to the sea not only in one piece, but with its funnels still attached, something which didn't happen in real life.
    • Idina claims to be the great-granddaughter of Captain Edward Smith. In truth, while he did have two grandchildren, they died childless, meaning that he shouldn't have had great-grandchildren going around. Then again, she clearly isn't right in the head.
  • Black Dude Dies First: Inverted - the last person we see die in the movie is the Black Captain Rhoades when Cochran revives as a dead spirit and attacks her. The actual first victim is apparently the White Male Jackson.
  • Cassandra Truth: No one initially believes Nancy when she claims that the ship is haunted, even though she is correct.
  • Developing Doomed Characters: The first 30 minutes of the movie are spent with Mia and Jackson as they board the ship and record footage. However, they become the first victims of the paranormal forces on board the ship, with Mia being the first fatality confirmed on-screen.
  • Distant Prologue: The first few minutes are set on board the sinking of the Titanic in 1912 and focus on a woman called Elizabeth as she attempts to survive the sinking, only to get attacked by something in the water. The actual movie takes place in the 2020s.
  • Downer Ending: The ship sinks, most of the cast is dead, and the final seconds has Rhoades get killed by Cochran.
  • Famous Ancestor: It's a plot point that Idina is the great-granddaughter of Captain Edward Smith.
  • Fiery Redhead: Idina is a creepy redhead who summons demonic spirits, all under the belief that people are grave-robbing the Titanic.
  • Ghostly Gape: The ghosts have black voids for eyes and open mouths which they use to scream at people.
  • Ghastly Ghost: The ghosts, on top of looking like eyeless versions of their original living selves, now have the desire to kill others.
  • Ghostly Chill: Cochran comments that the ghost he was attacked by felt cold like death. Probably helps that the ghost was that of someone who died in the cold seas where the Titanic sank.
  • Indian Burial Ground: A variant - the reason Idina is causing chaos and summoning ghosts is that she hates that people are desecrating the burial grounds that it is the Titanic. When Edward possesses her, he reveals that he hates that people are sailing over his grave and sinks the new Titanic as revenge.
  • Legacy Vessel Naming: This movie revolves around a third Titanic ship, which meets a similar fate as its predecessors.
  • Musical Assassin: The violinist ghosts tend to knock out and kill their victims by playing a loud screeching sound on their instruments, but not before luring them into complacency with a play of "Nearer My God to Thee".
  • Number of the Beast: The name of the movie is called "Titanic 666", referencing the fact that unlike its predecessors, supernatural and demonic forces are at play here.
  • Spooky Photographs: For the most part, the ghosts are invisible on video footage. However, they do show up as a form of lens flare, which Nancy notices and takes to mean that there are ghosts on board the ship.
  • Summoning Ritual: Idina can be seen summoning the demonic souls through a satanic ritual, which involves human blood. Mia, Jackson, and Nancy come across it, but don't stop it, being more confused than anything.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Idina is working because she's mad at Cochran for excavating the Titanic and taking away its treasures, comparing it to grave-robbing. However, summoning the ghosts in a satanic ritual and getting them to curse the ship was perhaps not the best way of dealing with things.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?:
    • Jackson simply vanishes rather than dies or becomes a ghost, but it's not made clear what really happened to him.
    • Where Nancy and the other survivors rescued? It's unclear.
  • What Did You Expect When You Named It ____?: Considering the fact that two Titanics before this one have sunk in catastrophic events, you would think there would be some hesitancy in naming this new ship after them. Fittingly, even before Titanic III leaves, mention is made of a bet on whether the ship would actually survive, and it meets a watery end to vicious ghouls.
