''The Faculty'' is a [[TheNineties 1998]] teen {{Horror}} film directed by Creator/RobertRodriguez, his first in which he only served as director and not a writer. The story involves [[PuppeteerParasite a parasitic alien]] landing in [[AliensInCardiff small-town Ohio]] and turning the faculty of a HighSchool into [[BodySnatcher its puppets]], followed by the students and the rest of the town.

** Finally, on a meta level, each of the film's protagonists has an obvious counterpart from ''Film/TheBreakfastClub''. [[spoiler:Stan's counterpart is Andy, Delilah's is Claire, Casey's is Brian, Zeke's is Bender, and Stokely's is Allison... but where does Marybeth fit in? That's right. Among the rare successful [[SlidingScaleOfComedyAndHorror horror comedies]] (especially out of the bunch that followed in ''Film/{{Scream|1996}}''[='s=] [[FollowTheLeader wake]]), both very funny and very scary. The film's writer, Creator/KevinWilliamson, also wrote the first two ''Film/{{Scream}}'' movies, which helped it to avoid making the mistakes of many of the [[FollowTheLeader copycat]] teen horror movies of the late '90s. Expect loads of [[BodyHorror creative gore]] and ''really'' [[WTHCastingAgency creative casting]].

* ADateWithRosiePalms: Not only do Casey's parents take away his phone, internet and music as punishment, but they also confiscate his porn. Casey's father tells him "No more [[SexualEuphemism flogging the bishop]]."

* BeautifulAllAlong: Miss Burke is [[EvilMakeover an evil version]] of this trope. All it takes to make her look sexy is fixing her hair, [[TheGlassesGottaGo dropping her glasses]] and giving her [[LadyInRed a red tank top]], and everyone treats her like a HeadTurningBeauty... but this occurs after she's been turned into an alien puppet. (Though being played by Creator/FamkeJanssen certainly doesn't hurt either).

** Stokely: [[LonersAreFreaks Psycho Loner]] {{Goth}}. She's intentionally abrasive to ward off {{Abhorrent Admirer}}s, going so far as even [[spoiler: [[SorryImGay faking that she's a lesbian]]]]. Also similar to Casey, her loner status helps inoculate her from being [[spoiler:body snatched by aliens until the end]] and her interests in sci-fi make her GenreSavvy enough to know [[spoiler:they have to kill the alien queen to save everyone]].
** Zeke: {{Delinquent}}. Yeah, he sells students drugs and celebrity sex tapes, but he's also revealed to be BrilliantButLazy, making a homemade drug test kit [[spoiler:[[ChekhovsGun that proves to be toxic to the aliens]]]]. He also is [[spoiler:one of the ones to last the longest without being infected]] because his criminal background and know-how makes him well-suited for dealing with the situation at hand.

** Marybeth: FinalGirl. [[spoiler:The viriginal, HairOfGoldHeartOfGold facace is a ''literal'' facade, as she is actually the HiveQueen in human form.]]

** Zeke: {{Delinquent}}.
