A Grande Adventure.
The Bastard Sword is a 2018 action adventure film by Rusalka Pictures starring Xander Phillips, Seth Easterbrook and Martyn Eade.The film's plot centers around a fighter named Tias who finds himself lost in the forest looking to find The Bastard Sword for noble intentions but he is not alone. On his quest there is a thief named Mars, who is also after the sword for his own selfish means.
After Tias meets a mysterious hermit called Ulysses, the three must form an unlikely alliance and work together to find the sword, but it can only be claimed by one.
This Film provides examples of:
- Easy Amnesia: Tias wakes up at the start of the film with no memory of why he is there.
- Cat Scare: When Mars kills the shapeshifter it's revealed to be a woodpigeon.
- Cool Sword: The Bastard Sword itself is a "Cool Sword".
- Crushing Handshake: Mars and Tias have an Arm wrestle on a log to assert who is stronger.

Development Gag: The term "Grande" was a joke made between the cast and was eventually written into the film and was used in the film's tagline. - Farm Boy: Tias the protagonist has the typical Farmboy origin story.
- Face Death with Dignity: Tias falls to his knees to accept his fate against Ulysses in order to grant him his freedom.
- Handshake Substitute: When Tias and Ulysses meet they share a handshake similar to the "Forearm Clasp".
- Hidden in Plain Sight: "The True Sword" is in the first shot of the film.
- I Am Not Left-Handed: Both Mars and Tias are left handed.
- Rule of Three: Three "Grandes".
- The Bad Guy Wins: When Tias kills Mars, Mars in his final words proves that Tias is a killer.
- Mars technically claims the sword by killing Ulysses, only to be killed seconds later.
- Throwing Your Sword Always Works: Ulysses throws Tias's sword back at him and it lands next to his ear.
