Film / The Bag Witch Project

Go To

A 1999 American Short Film Comedy directed by Christopher Petkus that has three role-players disappearing at a convention and the film showing what happened.

It was released August 4, 1999, the same weekend as The Blair Witch Project, making it possibly the first parody of the movie.

Tropes for the film:

  • Evil Is Deathly Cold: Subverted and lampshaded. It would be this trope, if it weren't satire:
    • "I'm tired, I'm hungry, I'm even cold. How can it be cold? We're indoors. And it's August!
  • Fan Convention: The movie tells the sorry tale of three attendees at GenCon, who get hopelessly lost in the hallways of the Milwaukee convention center.
  • No Snack for You: Happens as the guys keep moving in circles and winding up at the same vending machine, which invokes this trope every time they return.
  • Tagline: "In August 1998, three role-players disappeared in a hotel in Milwaukee while looking for a gaming tournament...a year later, their footage was found".
