A 1994 TV film directed by Paul Greengrass based on the life of David Martin, who for a time was one of Britain’s most wanted criminals.

Provides examples of:

  • AM/FM Characterization: At the start of the scene at David’s parents’ flat, the radio is playing “What Do You Want?” by Adam Faith, a pop hit from 1959 with a sound that would immediately become antiquated with the arrival of The Beatles, to illustrate how old-fashioned they are.
  • Dull Surprise: Gloria isn't at all shocked to find David stealing from her purse.
  • Internal Affairs: After he shoots Stephen, DC Finch gets taken in for questioning by some officers from the Met's Complaints Investigation Board.
  • Newscaster Cameo: After Stephen is shot, Charlotte Green’s voice can be heard from a car radio giving a news update on the incident, although it’s unclear if she’s playing herself or if the audio has been taken from an archive recording.
