Killer Darts is a 1968 Shaw Brothers martial arts film starring Yueh Hua and Chin Ping.

A legion of bandits led by the bandit lord, Chou Chau, had massacred a village, with the warrior Liu Wen-Lung and his infant son, Liu Yu-Long, being among the few survivors. Raising his child to be a warrior, Liu Wen-Lung adopted an orphan girl, Yu-sien as his protégé. Years later, the adult Liu Yu-Long (Yueh Hua) ends up falling for his adoptive sister, and things are made even more complicated when another swordswoman named Lin Heung-Kam shows up trying to kill Liu Wen-Long for some inexplicable reason.

Killer Darts Contains Examples of:

  • Acrofatic: The Giant Mook bandit fighter, Ji Nang, has some really flashy moves despite his massive gut and his body being loaded with piles of Kevlard.
  • Action Girl: Jin Yu-Sien and Heung-Kam, the two swordswoman fighters who assists Liu Yu-Long in battling mooks.
  • Armor Is Useless: Subverted; in the final showdown Jin Yu-Sien is able to kill Bandit Lord Chou Chau by aiming for a crack under his chest armour. It's the attempt to reach an exposed opening of his armour while avoiding his sword-gauntlet combo attacks which makes him a dangerous opponent.
  • Battle Amongst the Flames: The opening battle depicting Liu Wen-Lung fighting a legion of bandits in a burning village being raided.
  • Battle Couple: Whenever Liu Yu-Long gets to team up with either Jin Yu-Sien or Heung-Kam during big fight scenes.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Bandit Lord Chou Chao "The Evil One" and his subordinate, Ji Nang.
  • Booby Trap: The bandits' underground dungeon are filled with these. From collapsing pitfalls containing spikes, to closing walls.
  • Dual Wielding: In the underground lair fight scene, Liu Yu-Long fights akimbo with his sword and a spear recovered from a slain mook. He gets plenty of kills with both weapons as well, although he lose said spear a minute later after narrowly escaping a pitfall trap.
  • Elaborate Underground Base: The bandits' hideout are located in underground dungeons, which are filled with traps.
  • In a Single Bound: In typical wuxia fashion, most of the fighters can leap great heights, notably in the finale when Lord Chou Chau evades the good guys by leaping all the way to the top of an arch while taunting the heroes to follow.
  • Master Swordsman: Liu Yu-long, the archetypal wuxia sword-wielding hero.
  • One-Man Army: Most of the heroes, but especially Liu Yu-Long, against scores of faceless mooks.
  • Outdoor Bath Peeping: Early on, Liu Yu-Long goes into Eating the Eye Candy when swordswoman Heung-Kam takes a bath in a lake.
  • Parent-Child Team: Liu Wen-Lung and his son, Liu Yu-Long, who kicks ass side-by-side and takes plenty of names.
  • Roaring Rampage of Rescue: The night ambush on the bandits' fortress, when Liu Yu-Long had to infiltrate and kill his way through numerous mooks to save his father/mentor Liu Wen-Lung who had been captured alive.
  • Tricked-Out Gloves: The bandit warlord Chou Chau has a shielded gauntlet strapped to his right arm which has hidden projectile launchers. Figuring a way to bypass the gauntlet makes the final battle even more challenging than any other fight in the film.
