"With the crayon, anything is possible!"
"When someone tells a story, they create an entire world. And usually, the characters stay there. But there are legends of characters so real... that they step right into this world."

Harold and the Purple Crayon is a 2024 American live-action/animated fantasy comedy film produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Davis Entertainment. Based on the book of the same name first published in 1955 by Crockett Johnsonnote , it was directed by Carlos Saldanha from a screenplay by David Guion and Michael Handelman and stars Zachary Levi in the titular role, with Lil Rel Howery, Benjamin Bottani, Jemaine Clement, Tanya Reynolds, Alfred Molina and Zooey Deschanel in supporting roles.

The film serves as a sequel to the original book, where, after the adventurous Harold grows up with his magical purple crayon and draws himself off the book's pages and into the physical world, he finds that he has a lot to learn about real life. Unless, he and his crayon can set off into more hijinks that could be possible. But when the magic falls into the wrong hands, it will take all of Harold and all of his friends' endless creativity to save both worlds. The film will be released on August 2, 2024.
