Clownface is a British Horror Movie by Alex Bourne.
A small town is being plagued by a series of murders committed by a man (Philip John Bailey) who wears the flesh of a clown's face over his own. One year after the murder of Rick (Thomas Loone) and the disappearance of his girlfriend Zoe (Dani Tonks), Zoe's friend Jenna (Hannah Douglas) is invited to a party being held in an isolated farm, and a man named Owen (Richard Buck) recently moved to the neighbourhood for reasons known only to him.
The film was released on April 21st, 2019.
Clownface contains examples of:
- Accidental Murder: While running from Clownface in his home, Jenna stabs a person coming around a corner, and it turns out to be Zoe.
- Bait-and-Switch: When Zoe's friend leaves, Zoe rests on her bed, and is soon handcuffed and forced onto the bed by an assailant in black clothes. The "assailant" is Rick, who was doing sexy roleplaying for her.
- Blood from the Mouth: Starting with Rick, a lot of people have blood coming out of their mouths when Clownface attacks them.
- Damsel in Distress: Zoe spent a year as Clownface's prisoner until she manages to escape.
- Facial Horror: After attacking his second on-screen victim, Clownface cuts a part of his face off and then has Zoe eat it.
- Flashback: Owen flashes back to when he was a kid, playing with a stick like it's a sword, and sees Clownface.
- Flipping the Bird: When Jenna's friend asks her whyshe's work in a "dump" like Amy's cafe, Amy playfully flips her off.
- Handgun: Owen brought a gun with him to kill Clownface with. When he tries shooting him, though, Clownface survives.
- Modesty Towel: Jenna wears one after a shower in one scene.
- Monster Clown: Clownface wears a mask made from the face of a clown he killed.
- Neck Snap: Clownface kills Jenna's dad by snapping his neck.
- Of Corpse He's Alive: After killing Jenna's dad, Clownface places him in his bed to make Jenna think he's sleeping.
- One-Word Title: Clownface, of course.
- Time Skip: After Rick's murder and Zoe's kidnapping, the film jumps ahead one year.
