Avengers: Endgame by Dragonis Prime

• Status: Complete
• Pairing: None
• Synopsis: Thanos has won, and the universe has been culled. It's up to the Avengers, their old friends, and their new allies to piece it all back together. However; to win the war against Thanos and make the universe whole once again, sacrifices will have to be made.
• Comment: Clearly written before the movie actually dropped, but a good "What if" story.

A Bit of Both: After the Snap by Bunny Rock

• Status: Dormant; last updated May 2019
• Pairing: Quill/Gamora
• Synopsis: What happens to the Guardians when they have to guard the Post-Snap universe... The crew from A Bit of Both deal with having Thor, not having Gamora, and living in a forever changed universe of Wonders and Terror.
• Comment: Quill, quite understandably, freaks the hell out to find he's been dead for five years and everyone else has kind of moved on, and also Thor is living on his ship now. Rocket has to deal with Quill's emotional baggage in typical Rocket fashion. Borderline hurt/comforts, but with a major focus on friendship.

What If? by SonsOfBeaches99

• Status: Complete
• Pairing: Small Peter/Shuri near end.
• Synopsis: Everyone knows how Thanos destroyed half of all life in Infinity War... Everyone knows how the Avengers brought them back in the Endgame... But what if some things were different? Like what if Tony Stark and Steve Rogers had been dusted instead?
• Comment: An excellent "What if" story that explore the possibility of how the events of Endgame would have been different if several Avengers swapped places in who got dusted. While the plot remains relatively the same, different characters means several new interactions, and some events that go differently. Especially what happens after Peter snaps his fingers. Might be a hard read for some since the talking is in script form.

Post-Snap World: A Journey Around a Mourning Public

• Recommended by: Le Mon
• Status: Complete
• Synopsis: A variety of news articles for a human interest magazine, featuring interviews and analysis of the heroes behind reversing the Snap are being redistributed to the world.
• Comment: Humanity Helper, the world's number one human interest stories magazine (if only because the competition was either Snapped or went out of business) is distributing articles from the Avengers both in the five-year period between the movies and just afterwards. An interesting way of seeing how much the world has changed in this short period and what the Avengers have been doing over this time to help the world. If you like to read in-universe documentation or from other points of view, this is one for you.

Monster by Mia Vaan (Alternative link here.)

• Recommended by: Tiggerific
• Status: Complete
• Pairing: Slight Loki/Valkyrie but it's not the main focus.
• Synopsis: Thor threw Loki into the Bifrost to save him from Thanos, and now the God of Mischief must work together with Earth's Mightiest Heroes to defeat the Mad Titan before he wipes out half the universe.
• Comment: A fantastic rewrite of both Infinity War and Endgame in which Loki survives and teams up with the Avengers to stop Thanos (wasn't sure whether to put this rec here or on the IW page; decided to put it here because the chapter covering Endgame is longer than the one covering IW). Like the story above, the plot remains relatively the same with a few small changes here and there to accommodate Loki, but he and everyone else is delightfully in character. Highly recommended for anyone disappointed that we never got to see a team-up between Loki and the Avengers.

Returning the Stones: Captain America’s Odyssey through Time and Space by SJS3000

• Status: Complete and now has a trope page
• Pairing: Steve/Peggy (with hints of a spark between Cap and Frigga)
• Synopsis: This story portrays Cap’s trip returning the Infinity Stones and how he decides to return to the past and to Peggy Carter.
• Comment: This story provides a fun and interesting take on the emotional toll that the events of the MCU have taken on Cap, but also with good side humor thrown in. The best part though is how it tells the stories the people Cap returns the Stones to. His interactions with both Alexander Pierce and Frigga are particularly interesting, his returning of the Tesseract includes a great twist, and the epilogue provides a fix-it of sorts.

Resilience and Other Heroes by thesemovingparts

• Status: Complete
• Pairing: Peter/MJ, Ned/Betty
• Synopsis: Somehow, against all odds, the Friends of Spider-Man all survived the Snap. This is how they lived in the aftermath. This is how they tried to save the world.
• Comments: An excellent AU fic where Peter and co. survived the Snap, as told through the lens of Michelle. It lends some interesting interpretations of certain characters (Michelle in particular for obvious reasons) and how the world might put itself back together post-Snap. Warnings for strong language and casual drug usage.

The Third Life of Steve Rogers by Force For Good

• Pairing: Peggy Carter/Steve Rogers
• Synopsis: Steve has a new life living in the past with Peggy. He faces the question of how to use his knowledge of the future. Does he help or sit by and watch hoping to not destroy the timeline? This fic is basically an epic multi generational saga of how Steve contiues to help from a distance and raise a huge and loving family. A combination of a realistic look at how to raise a family when you know what horrors the future brings and how to use a clandestine organization ( the sprawling Carter-Rogers family) to keep the damage those horrors bring minimal. The implications of Steve going to live in the past with Peggy are completly considered and hashed out. Great characterization of exisiting and original characters. Even if you don't like original characters these ones blend seemlessly into the existing source material.

14,000,606 by Herrin26

• Pairing: Peter Parker/Michelle "MJ" Jones, Tony Stark/Pepper Potts
• Synopsis: Stephen Strange saw 14,000,605 timelines where the Avengers faced Thanos, and only one where they defeated the mad Titan. But 14,000,605 is not infinity. What if someone else was able to wrest the Infinity Stones from both Thanos and Tony Stark? Someone who knew that with great power came great responsibility? What if Peter Parker performed the final snap?
• Comments: A solid story where Peter Parker defied destiny and saved the universe in a timeline that Doctor Strange did not foresee. Thanks to his greater than human strength, Peter survived, but was not unscathed. Nor was he safe from other threats as Mysterio still wanted revenge against Tony Stark. An alternate timeline that has Peter deal with the aftermath of Endgame, as well as the events from Spider-Man: Far From Home, while dealing with newfound publicity, winning the admiration of his fellow heroes, and the affections of MJ. If you liked What If…? (2021), give this story a glance.

• Summary: "What if there's a universe where he's still alive?" Peter asks, his voice cracking on the last word.
• Comment: A bittersweet angsty one-shot that turns the multiverse theory into an emotionally resonant story on Pepper Potts.

Backwards by Snoot37

• Status: Complete
• Pairing: Steve Rogers/Sharon Carter, brief Steve/Peggy, mentioned Daniel Sousa/Peggy Carter
• Summary: Steve uses the Infinity Stones to go back in time to live out the life he had wanted with Peggy, but realizes that he's only moving backwards by staying stuck in the past. Returning to the present, he must do right by Sharon and the others.
• Comment: For anyone miffed with Sharon being wasted in the movieverse and unsatisfied with Captain America's hypocrisy in not moving on, this is a satisfying Fix Fic that not only calls out Cap's (let's be honest) selfish actions but also a strong emotional pull for Sharon and the rest of the Carters that was missing in the official material.

As Long as He Needs by Breakinglight11

• Summary: Steve thought that he'd give over the rest of his life to being Captain America— that he'd never be able to be anything else. But at the urging of his closest friend Bucky, he begins to reconsider going after the one thing he wanted for himself.
• Comment: A highly internal, deeply in character narrative of the journey Steve made not only returning the Infinity Stones, but also of coming to the decision to return to Peggy.

• Synopsis: Thanos snaps his fingers, and half of all sentient life disappears from existence — including Maverick Mitchell. Grief-stricken and utterly determined to make things right, Iceman Kazansky teams up with old friend Carol Danvers and the Avengers in the hopes of bringing his husband back and defeating Thanos once and for all.
• Pairing: Iceman Kazansky/Maverick Mitchell, Carol Danvers/Maria Rambeau, Tony Stark/Pepper Potts
• Comments: An epic, ambitious retelling of Avengers: Endgame from the point of view of Iceman Kazansky. This is a love letter to Ice and a great fix-it for Endgame. The action is great, characterization is tight across the board, and it's just a really rewarding read.
