Wyvern Queen (also available on FanFiction.net) is a A Song of Ice and Fire and Fire Emblem: Three Houses crossover fic written by The Oddfather (a.k.a. strangebloke). The story follows the Black Eagles and their journey as they try to find their way back home while facing the turbulent nature of Essos' warfare and politics.

Beware of unmarked spoilers.

Wyvern Queen contains examples of:

  • Armor-Piercing Question: When two priests show up to challenge Flayn and the newly-established Church, Flayn asks them what they’ve been doing about slavery, given that they consider Daenerys’s crusade against it to be holy. When they can’t respond, she says they are wasting her time and she has people in need to help.
  • Asshole Victim: The Titan’s Bastard, Jorah, and some of the slavers of Yunkai (Edelgard spares the less unreasonable ones for practical reasons).
  • Bullying a Dragon: An understandable instance. The Titan’s Bastard thinks that Edelgard, being a tiny girl, won’t be able to fight in full armor with a massive axe. He doesn’t know about her Crests, which make her more than strong enough to do so.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: Most of the former slaves in Yunkai support Edelgard, but some are this to the point of opposing her.
  • Corrupt Church: Edelgard is afraid the new Church of Seiros will be this. She’s wrong; Flayn is a Good Shepherd and doesn’t have most of the issues that led Rhea to make most of her mistakes.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: The cities of Slaver’s Bay have yet to deliver a challenging battle to the Black Eagles. That’s not to say that they don’t struggle, though, because they struggle with being drastically under-equipped to govern, being extremely short on resources and manpower, as well as not having much of the infrastructure needed for governance.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: Barristan tells Dany that Hubert clearly cannot be trusted. This is accurate. He then says that Edelgard likely didn't trust him and sent him to Dany's court to get him out of the way. Not accurate. While he doesn't know that the members of the Eagles that Edelgard doesn't trust are Ferdinand and Flayn, if he did it would likely be shocking to him.
  • Foil: Dany and Edelgard. Both are white-haired princesses on campaigns of conquest in the hopes of overthrowing a corrupt social order. However, Edelgard is closed off, distrustful, and unempathetic while Dany is too trusting and compassionate for her own good. Edelgard is well-versed in politics but bad with people, while Dany is great with people but inexperienced in politics.
  • Klingon Promotion: Ferdinand wins control of Astapor from Cleon in a duel. Cleon tried poisoning Ferdinand beforehand, but it didn't help much.
  • Nay-Theist: Both Edelgard and Hubert, to an extent:
The Oddfather: " Hubert and Edelgard see themselves as vassals of the goddess rebelling because she has failed in her stated purpose, the governance and protection of Fodlan. Even then, their issues are far more with the leadership of the church than the Goddess herself. "
  • Never Suicide: Caspar strangles Jorah on Hubert’s orders, and makes it look like he hung himself with his bedsheets.
  • Redemption Earns Life: Master Yezzen, the Token Good Teammate of Yunkai, ultimately pulls a Heel–Face Turn and supports Edelgard as best he can, regretting that he cannot do more because of his sickness. He gets the chance to do so when Flayn's faith magic heals him, even though by all indication he was too far gone to be saved. It's implied Sothis may have intervened directly.
  • Refuge in Audacity: Hubert has Jorah Mormont killed while he himself meets with Danaerys and advises her to kill Jorah Mormont. It looks so suspicious that Dany decides Hubert could not possibly be behind Jorah's death.
  • The Rival: Edelgard considers Ferdinand to be this, though Ferdinand considers it to be more of a Friendly Rivalry. He considers Hubert more of a straight example; that one is mutual. Jorah also considers Hubert to be this, but Hubert thinks Jorah is so worthless that he could not possibly measure up.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Both Daenerys and Edelgard strive to be this.
  • Slavery Is a Special Kind of Evil: One of the biggest issues that the Fodlani characters have against the Essossi, in general, is their attitude towards slavery.
  • Sympathetic Slave Owner: Master Yezzen thinks he’s this, and that his slaves are happy serving him. Edelgard disagrees. In reality, it’s Downplayed; When Dany and Edelgard take the city, many of his slaves want freedom, but they also don’t think he deserves to die and they demand that his life be spared. Edelgard does, though mostly because she doesn’t want the administration of Yunkai destroyed completely before she can establish order, and because she wishes to prove to him that Yunkai does not need slavery. To his credit, he doesn't take it personally and even hopes to see her proven right. Ultimately, it's played straight enough to net him a second chance at life.
  • Trapped in Another World: The story began with The Black Eagles transported to Planetos (Near Volantis to be exact) through unknown means. Getting back to Fodlan is part of their motivation.
  • We ARE Struggling Together: Practically everyone suffers from this. The Great Masters of Meereen are already as treacherous as you'd expect them to be. Among the Black Eagles, There's Edelgard and her ever-present suspicion towards Ferdinand and general distrust towards those with ties to the Church. Among Daenerys' group, there are divisions among her highest advisors, especially between Ser Barristan and Jorah Mormont. Taken up to eleven when these three groups later join forces.
  • Wrong Context Magic: While the Meerenese are no strangers to magic, the spells they're familiar with tend to require blood and sacrifice to work, whereas Fodlani magic is a learnable skill that requires either knowledge or faith to cast, depending on the school.
