* SmallReferencePools: Averted. Very much so. The author has referred to just about everything he can, from Manga/FruitsBasket, to VideoGame/LeagueOfLegends, to Music/BlackSabbath and Music/BlindGuardian. It'd be easier to list the things he HASN'T made an allusion to somewhere.

** For the one chapter they show up, [[{{VideoGame/Persona4}} Yu]] and [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight Saber]] get ridiculously badass moments.

** [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Spiral Power]], obviously.
** Pheromone Dust as well. It acts as an instant HilarityEnsues button.
** Anything with the word 'Antic' applied to it.

** Lucina TRIES to be this for Jaune during the Civilization V chapter, [[EpicFail only to lose the game much faster]] than if Jaune had not let her play.

** Velvet and Coco get this treatment as well. Fionn of team MLDY gets this a lot, although [[VisualNovel/FateStayNight knowing his inspirations]], its not hard to expect.
** Among fanfics, Fanfic/ReactWatchBelieveYikes gets the most bashing- Weiss does a RageQuit before even finishing the fic. The author does actually approve of the fic, though, so it's mainly an AffectionateParody.

* CastingGag: Roman and Glynda remark on how much [[Anime/TasogareOtomeXAmnesia Yuko]], [[Anime/AKB0048 Chieri]] and [[Anime/GuiltyCrown Ayase]] sound alike. The joke? [[{{Creator/EmilyNeves}} All of them are voiced by the same person in their original series.]]
** [[Manga/FruitsBasket Tohru Honda's]] voice is compared to [[{{VideoGame/Persona4}} Rise]], [[Anime/CrayonShinChan Shin-chan]], and [[Anime/{{Catherine}} Catherine]], and at the end of her chapter, [[{{VideoGame/Persona3}} Minako]] transfers into Beacon. The joke? [[{{Creator/LauraBailey}} All of them are ALSO voiced by the same person.]]

** Franchise/ShinMegamiTenseiPersona- The events of VideoFame/Persona3 are alluded to, Yukari appears in two chapters, Minato shows up after several chapters of his existence being implied and him being mentioned as a chat friend of Jaune's, and Rise pays a visit to Vale and interacts with the protagonists. Blake is also mentioned to be a Mitsuru fangirl and the Schnees are mentioned to have ties with the Kirijo Group. Minako, the female protagonist of Persona 3, also joins the Beacon students near the end of Volume One.

** A DOUBLE whammy with the Transfer Student chapter. Nobody expected [[Manga/FruitsBasket Tohru Honda]]- most of the author's crossover characters were from visual novels like VisualNovel/FateStayNight or video games like [[Franchise/ShinMegamiTenseiPersona Persona]] and thus she was completely out of left field, being a {{Shoujo}} heroine from a relatively old manga-and definitely nobody expected [[VideoGame/{{Persona3}} Minako]]- he had stuck up to using the canon up to this point.

* SuddenlyVoiced: Gretchen Faust speaks for the first time in Volume Two. ZigZagged: Faust could always talk, but she was never seen talking in person, only either recorded in Glynda's diary or off-scene.
