Viper, Spider, Phoenix
is an unfinished Elementary fic based on the idea that Joan Watson is actually O-Ren Ishii from Kill Bill.
O-Ren didn't die when the Bride scalped her. She lived, albeit as another person. O-Ren adopts the identity of "Joan Watson" and slowly forgets her past life. She has fleeting memories of her past but they aren't clear. At least, they weren't until she met a former rival of hers.
This fanfic provides examples of:
- Alternate Universe Fic: Joan is actually O-Ren with Repressed Memories. It's also revealed that Moriarty is Beatrix.
- Composite Character:
- Joan Watson is O-Ren Ishii with few memories of her past.
- Moriarty is the Bride under a new identity.
- Crossover: Between Elementary and Kill Bill.
- Dead Fic: The story has only 2 chapters and hasn't updated since 2014.
- Doppelgänger Crossover: Watson and O-Ren are both played by Lucy Liu. The plot revolves around the two being the same person.
- Memory Trigger: "Joan Watson" Repressed Memories of being O-Ren Ishii as just dreams or deja vu, until they were reawakened after seeing Moriarty (AKA, the Bride).
- Repressed Memories: Joan represses her past as a yakuza boss.
- That Man Is Dead: Joan chose to re-invent herself, which lead to her repressing her past memories.
- Slash Fic: The story was started for Joan/Moriarty week. It's also a O-Ren/Beatrix fic. Joan and Moriarty have a past relationship.
